Clinton wants all U.S. troops out of Iraq when Bush leaves office

The Associated Press
Published: January 28, 2007

DAVENPORT, Iowa: U.S. presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton said Sunday that U.S. President George W. Bush should withdraw all U.S. troops from Iraq before he leaves office, saying it would be "the height of irresponsibility" to pass the war along to the next commander in chief.

"This was his decision to go to war with an ill-conceived plan and an incompetently executed strategy," the Democratic senator said her in first presidential campaign tour through the early-voting state of Iowa.

"We expect him to extricate our country from this before he leaves office" in January 2009, the former first lady said.

The White House condemned Clinton's comments as a partisan attack that undermines U.S. soldiers.

About 130,000 American troops are in Iraq, and Bush has announced this month he was sending 21,500 more as part of his new war strategy.

Pressed during a forum to defend her vote to authorize force in Iraq before the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003, Clinton responded by increasing her criticism of Bush.

"I am going to level with you, the president has said this is going to be left to his successor," Clinton said. "I think it is the height of irresponsibility and I really resent it."

Bush describes Iraq as the central front in the global fight against terrorism that began after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. "The war on terror will be a problem for the next president. Presidents after me will be confronting ... an enemy that would like to strike the United States again," he recently told USA Today newspaper.

One questioner asked Clinton if her track record showed she could stand up to "evil men" around the world.

It's all about her.

She just doesn't want to worry about Iraq.

Well, guess what? This war on Terror will last far into the next presidency. If she isn't up to the task, we will pick someone who is.

Well, we can see where the Democrats are going with "the war" -- if it wasn't already obvious by now...

We are in for twenty or so months of her ugly fortress of paid operatives, private investigators, various and assorted fixers and enforcers, softball media hosts, the sycophantic and protective old lying Marxist/liberal media, loads of screened audiences, and the virtual ubiquity of meaningless listening tours.

She is making it all a personal issue between Bush and her and not about the WOT and geo-politcal thing that it actually is.

What a knucklehead she is, cant she see what strategic avantage it will be for us to have 1 division or so of reactionary forces in place/on the ground there, and also as a early warning of any Iranian missles and early launch of interceptors against same missiles?

She is even worse than Kerry.

Translation, I'm going to be too busy stealing your health care, guns, and freedom to worry about your safety.

It's a fair trade, because with the Clinton's in the White House our children get to learn about sodomy and how evil they are for being white. Being alive is kind of over rated.

If we elect her, we deserve her.

Hillary (wrongly) believes that she is superior to all others and that she needs to save the world. She learned this back in Park Ridge, Illinois. With this in mind, it brings the following to mind.

****

Half of the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm. But the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves. —T.S. Elliot

The Dems and the MSM suddenly seem to think we have a parliamentary system where a loss in the legislative branch means the executive becomes a 'caretaker' government until the new majority is stable or another election is held.

Someone needs to remind Hillary that she can't demand squat until January 20th, 2009 (assuming she actually wins).

Want a stronger anti american mideast? follow her policies and sure as tomorrow, they will be bigger, better and bolder. Want another 9/11 soon hillary? empower them. take your path and thats what you will give us.

You are right bnelson - this is a continuation of the last 1400 years.

Only democracy can change their direction. THAT should be the number one export. In Bushes eyes that IS the business. Why can she not support the US (- not bush -) doing that in Iraq today?

I know its that contrarian thing. Whatever the opposition is doing you have to do the opposite.

What did Bubba do?

Rolling Back Clinton   1-22-01

One morning at the nub end of Bill Clinton's presidency, Clinton chief of staff John Podesta walked into a senior staff meeting in the Roosevelt Room waving a copy of USA Today. Holding the paper aloft, Podesta read the headline out loud, "Clinton actions annoy Bush." The article detailed the new rules and Executive Orders the outgoing President was issuing in his final days, actions aimed in equal measure at locking in Clinton's legacy (in areas like environmental protection) and bedeviling his successor. "What's Bush so annoyed about?" Podesta asked with a devilish smile. "He's got four years to try to undo all the stuff we've done."

~snip~

"We laid a few traps," chirps a happy Clinton aide.

HIller Clinton: DAMNED IF I DO.... DAMNED IF I DON"T

Read Up on This NEW DYNAMIC:

The way Nancy and Hitlery have been whooping and hollering, it looks as though they could use a break. They are making more noise than a couple of porch front whores on a Friday night.

I have been laughing like a gregarious hyena at their high jinks. They are on the verge of a melt down , as they try to force the jingoistic propaganda that :

a) The US will fail in Iraq ( not true)

ERGO

b) the President should not be leaving a mess for the next president to inherit( Hillery quote as reported on NPR).

Methinks that Hillery is beginning to smarten up, but not quite enough.

Should she be rooting for Bush to win in Iraq ( in which case a Republican presidency is assured in 2008?),

OR should she be rooting for Bush to fail ( in which case there is a huge mess for the incoming president, a Democrat, and Hillery does not want to be elected to the office?).

Obviously Hillery still hasn't figured out whether she is bored or punched. She doesn't know whether she wants it in the a$$ or in the front. She is a laughing stock. And as I figure this out, I can tell you I have been laughing all day long!!

I think Dubyah has the Dems right where he wants them, between a rock and a hard place. They will join in his bipartisan Military Advisory Council, or else they will take the HIT either way, whether Bush wins in Iraq or not!

This dynamic will be a continuing source of humor and should be fully reported. Hillery doesn't want a mess if she gets elected ( stamps foot)," so George Dubyah Bush, you clean it up right now!!!( stamps foot)"........then a subtle idea dawns in Hillery's brain ( Am I rooting for Bush to win in Iraq!!!! AAAAAAhhhhh!)

Dubyah has done it agin. He has royally screwed the Dems.Soon the MSM will be running around in circles realizing they must cheer for Bush too, but vigorously not wanting too. You gotta love it.
