groups with Islamic connections work diligently through various means to expand their civic and political clout and ultimately to influence state and national policy

Gee, that sounds like democracy to me. If they don't like pro-Islam political activity influencing national policy maybe they shouldn't have invited them in the first place.

You said -- "I say this from close experiences and contacts with local Muslims. IMHO, these people are up to no good, but "what" is yet to be known. In the meantime, they are becoming established. Sometimes they use what seem to be legitimate businesses, but that is not always the case. These are not American citizens, for the most part, but foreign Muslims. They operate freely."

What you said made me think of this guy -- who refused business to our servicemen in Iraq -- and blasted him for being over there in the first place.

Other people, in investigating this story -- found some strange connections and links -- and also wondered "What is going on!!??" This story was not as it first appeared. And *now* that same guy (and/or business) is *actively* covering their "tracks" -- again *documented* by some other investigative sources (some bloggers).

Follow up the story and the other threads (given in thread, below) and follow to some of the other bloggers. *Something* strange is going on...
