She "outlasted" the other contestants.
Nice that someone with stamina can also be so beautiful!
Now that is a Sooner this Longhorn can appreciate.
Time for a planned and fake scandal to make her more rich and famous.
So now, can we expect a mud wrestlin' match between Miss USA and Miss America, the Super Bowl of beauty pageants?
Top 5 finishers:
1. Miss Oklahoma
2. Miss Texas
3. Miss Georgia
4. Miss Mississippi
5. Miss Alabama
Didn't Miss Oklahoma win last year also or was it the year before.
Wasn't this contest in September every year?
Hooray for this fine Sooner lady!
May the firings begin.
Congratulations to her. Lauren Nelson doesn't sound like your typical Miss America name. What's her middle name?
Where in Oklahoma is she from? She says she wants to be a Broadway actress. One of Broadway's biggest stars, Kristen Chenoweth, now starring in "The Apple Tree" (a delightful show), is from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma -- also the hometown of former Dodgers shortstop Bill Russell.
oh, she IS a cutie. Hope she follows a different path than some other beauty queens recently in the news.
Miss America in January?
How times have changed.
Was it even televised?
The pageant was tonight? I had no idea! It thought it was in the fall each year. I never saw one single promo for this on TV. Shows how much I pay attention.
Congrats to my fellow Sooner State person! *Oh-oh-oh-Oh!klahoma, where the wind comes sweeping down the plain ...*
*You're doin' fine, Miss Oklahoma - Miss America, OK!*
Not that I care, just curious.
Congratulations!
Isn't Carrie Underwood from Oklahoma?
Carrie wins hands down against this gal.
Just imo, of course.
From the time they announced the 52 contestants it was clear she was the most beautiful of the bunch, and the swimsuit and evening gown competition reinforced that. Her choice of song (You'll Be In My Heart) was a coup, I think.
Miss Mississippi was also very strong, but once she praised how her state's residents "pulled themselves up and helped each other" after Katrina, she was DOA. Never ever dare to speak the truth about New Orleans' helpless and shiftless wards of the state, in a public forum.
