AGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- The Pentagon is investigating whether a recent attack on a military compound in Karbala was carried out by Iranians or Iranian-trained operatives, two officials from separate U.S. government agencies said.
"People are looking at it seriously," one of the officials said.
That official added the Iranian connection was a leading theory in the investigation into the January 20 attack that killed five soldiers.
The second official said: "We believe it's possible the executors of the attack were Iranian or Iranian-trained."

Sure looks that way. Pussy footing, farting and other antics sure taint going to bring any on the hill in line, nor ease the ill feelings many have for this administration.

No they won't. Bush has already stated several times that we will go after the Iranians in Iraq. We still are holding some of them as well. He was very clear about this in his SOTU speech and in follow up interviews. The only thing he has said to the contrary that it "is not the plan" to attack Iran. But he also has made it abundantly clear that the military option is never off the table in that regard as well. things are boiling up to a head. I cannot think of another individual I'd want as CIC right now.

Common sense says it probably was. This operation was highly targeted, highly planned, involved just the right vehicles, personnel, ID card, uniforms, and other things. They were, it seems, after the soldiers computers and executed the soldiers soon after they took them. Who would be able to pull this off? I'll wait for the facts, but we all know how heavily Iran is invested in terrorism. They're spending a lot and gaining a lot too as the Democrats in Congress work to undermine the mission in Iraq.

As happened in the cutting of funds for South Vietnam to strengthen itself and not allow the commies to later overrun them, so it shall be once again.
These mealy mouth clowns on the hill such as Fiengold had better be put under foot or the whole GWOT initiative will sputter out. Of course this is what all the Islamofacist are praying for each day to their black rock to happen.
Then they can really go nutzo.
It is all politics.
The demorats feel they can gain the executive branch in 2008. And the sooner all efforts to go after the Islamos are put on the back burner the more at ease they shall be.
Gotta to stop funding the military, and get more money to fund their socialist programs. After all, the women and children are suffering the most.

So this is some kind of revelation? GW can "push" 20,000 more troops into Iraq if he wants, but until he goes in and kicks the snot out of the leadership of Iran expect to see these kind of attacks continue in Iraq !!!

From the link:
"The president also acknowledged skepticism concerning U.S. intelligence about Iran, because Washington was wrong in accusing Iraq of harboring weapons of mass destruction before the U.S.-led invasion in 2003. "I'm like a lot of Americans that say, 'Well, if it wasn't right in Iraq, how do you know it's right in Iran,'" the president said."
I fear something terribly wrong is taking place. I am serious.
