OSLO, Norway (AP) -- Former Vice President Al Gore was nominated for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for his wide-reaching efforts to draw the world's attention to the dangers of global warming, a Norwegian lawmaker said Thursday. "A prerequisite for winning the Nobel Peace Prize is making a difference, and Al Gore has made a difference," Conservative Member of Parliament Boerge Brende, a former minister of environment and then of trade, told The Associated Press.

Those Norwegians sure have a wry sense of humor! (GAG!) Think they'll honor him for dreaming up his braggadocio on inventing the Internet? "Love Story" as HIS and Tipper's life story? The grand plan for solving the world's worries with the Kyoto Kabal? They have to be daff over there!

Isn't this the same group that gave an award to Jimmuh Carter? That pretty well puts their credibility at zero.

It can go right into the trash along with Yassar Arafat's Nobel for Terrorism, excuse me, "Peace".

What a pathetic left wing joke the Nobel has become.

The left is very clever to take over the Foundations.

I give Gore about 90% chance of winning. It's all about agenda. They need to rename the award, the non-Noble Global Socialization Award.

So was ex-Illinois Governor/Crook George Ryan, who is currently convicted and waiting outcome of his appeal before heading off to the hoosegow.

Excuse me, but what in th' heck does global warming have to do with world peace? To the contrary, if every country really bought in to AlGore's 'the sky is falling' claptrap, there'd be wars over CO2 emissions. As usual, the Nobel prize is will be used as a political comment which will, as usual, mean absolutely nothing.

Al Gore has made a difference for LEFTIST causes, therefore he qualifies for the Nobel...

It is so sad how the Nobel Prizes have become political statements instead of really recognizing people of merit.

Gore desires this award as much as Arafat.

Gore desires this award as much as Arafat.

They both have the same desires...global admiration...but Gore deserves this award just as much as Carter and Arafat.

Al Gore has made a difference,"

Apparently, the Nobel Peace Prize has no real and lasting importance to the world as a whole.

This seems to be a slap in the face to Bill Clinton than a praise of Algore.

As always, MHO.

Ignominy heaped on top of disgrace. Gore and the Nobel Peace Prize deserve each other.

The only good thing about him winning, if he does, is that it will drive Bill Clinton mad!

Gore desires Arafat? Not my cup of tea. Not anyone's really.
