It is a terrible comparison, I know, even putting Anna Nichole and Terri in the same paragraph, but the judges! That is a different story, one that begs comparisons. Here we have Judge Seidlin, probate judge on the right side of the Florida coast and just to the left side we have probate judge George Greer. Imagining Greer in the Seidlin role causes brain cramps.

Kent Shocknek puts this on his blog, mentioning Ito, but just imagine cutting and pasting Greer into that courtroom.

.......................................

How about that Florida judge deciding where Anna Nicole Smith should be buried? As Ol' Bob Hope woulda said: "Isn't he somethin'?"

Larry Seidlin says things like "This body belongs to me" (when he's not referring to Smith's body as 'that baby'). He's bald and tan like Doctor Phil, and has a last name, like Judge Judy. Court-watchers ask if he's auditioning for his own show.

The longer he stalls the proceedings, the better we can "get to know him." Because, --and here's a good quote-- "If you have a camera in the courtroom, there's no filtering." Now who said that? Oh, yea, Judge Lance Ito, of O-J Simpson murder-trial fame.

Maybe Ito could coach Seidlin. Trouble is, he wouldn't. Ever since Simpson, Ito has refuesed to comment. The one guy from that trial, who found his way back to dignity. And all it took was silence.

There's a lesson there, but in the current Anna Nicole circus, probably not a lesson that'd appeal to the ringmaster. --Or Top Clown.

Anna Nicole, and Judge Lance Ito

Yeah, that's something. Frankly, I couldn't care less about all the hubbub. IMO, it's all for show and publicity. Even in death, she's got to ham it up for the cameras. It's not just the lawyers making money off this but all the players are getting their 15 minutes. The only one it's hurting is the baby. Sadly, Anna Nicole couldn't get past her own demons to change her lifestyle enough to be there to love and raise her daughter.

For those who have any lingering doubts about where Danforth stands, here is some filler...

Although he's been a Republican all his adult life, John Danforth isn't as comfortable in the party as he used to be. In fact, he's appalled by what he considers its takeover by the Christian right.

Snip...

He woke up to this change while observing the party's rush to support the Christian right's efforts to invalidate the Florida court rulings in the Terri Schiavo right-to-die case, he said.

He was dismayed because he doesn't want religious people and politicians interfering with his own end-of-life decisions, and because the party's behavior contradicted its core principle of limiting federal power, he said.

Danforth: 'Wedge issues' used to shore up GOP base

The temptations are almost overwhelming {cough}, but so far, I have not watched one minute of coverage of Anna Nicole nor read anything more than headlines about people going gaga about her. I do not care about her body. In this I am no hypocrite, for I did not care about it even when she inhabited it, bared it and exhibited it for all the kids on the block, pendulating her pendulous secondary sex characteristics.

The only thing that interests me about Anna Nicole is the miraculous siring of her baby by numerous fathers. Lots of kids today don't even have one father. But if you have a billion dollars, you get to have all the fathers you want.
