Candidates Pick Tunes at DNC Meeting ("Born to Run" Maybe?)
AP Washington ^ | Feb. 3rd, 2007 | NEDRA PICKLER

WASHINGTON (AP) - Everyone needs a soundtrack - even politicians. The presidential candidates who addressed the Democratic National Committee's winter meeting Friday got to choose their tunes, and it was an eclectic mix that reflected personal favorites and not-so-subtle messages. Some candidates requested two songs, one that blared as they approached the stage and another that played as they left the podium. The selections: _John Edwards: "This Is Our Country" by John Mellencamp. _Sen. Chris Dodd of Connecticut: "Get Ready (Cause Here I Come)" by the Temptations and "Reach Out," also by the Temptations. _Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York: "Right Here, Right Now," by Jesus Jones and "Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" by Bachman-Turner Overdrive. _Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio: "America the Beautiful"

Can you Freepers help me find a theme song? The obvious one is "Born to Run" by Springsteen but all other suggestions greatly appreciated - thanks

Hillary C.

Unbreakable Union of free-born Republics
Great Russia has welded for ever to stand,
Thy might was created by will of our peoples,
Now flourish in unity, great Soviet Land!

REFRAIN:
Sing to our Motherland, home of the free,
Bulwark of peoples in brotherhood strong!
The Party of Lenin, the strength of our peoples,
To Communism’s triumph lead us on!

Through tempests the sunrays of freedom have cheered us
Along the new path where great Lenin did lead.
To a righteous cause he raised up the peoples,
Inspired them to labor and heroic deeds.

REFRAIN

In the victory of Communism’s deathless ideals
We see the future of our dear Land,
And to her fluttering scarlet banner
Selflessly true we always shall stand!

REFRAIN

Hillary is going to choose a Fleetwood Mac song just like her hubby - "Tell Me Lies."

Excuse me for being so dumb, but the only "Born to Run" song I've ever heard is the one Emmy Lou Harris sang. Is it the same one? Just looked at my cd box for her on that song, says it was written by Paul Kennerly. Just askin. Thanx.

Off topic:

Imam leads Democrats in prayer of conversion. Read the whole thing. Although it's WND, Robert Spencer has serious credentials.

We have soldiers being killed by jihadists in Iraq, and the Democrats are being led in "prayer" by an Imam.

I knew President Clinton was full of crap when he said his favorite song was "Don't stop thinking about tomorrow".
That is about 11 or 12 down on the list of good FM tunes.
Maybe Black Friday by Steely Dan for Algore?

How About "I'm A Liar" by the Rollins band? Seems it would fit.
