Global Jihad: Drop The Gloves
Investor's Business Daily ^ | Feb. 3, 2007 | IBD

Posted on 02/03/2007 8:53:20 AM PST by FairOpinion

The ghastly plot by Muslim terrorists in Britain to kidnap and behead a British soldier to blackmail the U.K. into leaving Iraq is a grim reminder of the enemy we're fighting. And sadly, we need reminding.

While the bare-knuckled British press condemned the "evil Muslim terrorists," our media by and large shrugged, preoccupied as they've been with more important news, such as the sandbox spat between Rosie O'Donnell and Donald Trump. You'd never know we were at war with a barbarian culture bent on destroying our way of life.

Though we've so far avoided another attack here in America, there's been no shortage of terrorism around the world. You might say there's been a silent rampage. The thwarted British plot coincides with no fewer than 655 Islamic terror attacks across the globe in just the past three months. The full list appears on the Web site thereligionofpeace.com.

While their bloodshed may seem random, they have a purpose, a religious purpose, sick as it may be. And they are relentless.

Denying this unpleasant truth so we can feel nice and tolerant is politically correct suicide.

We need an honest assessment of our enemy. Wishful thinking is not going to win this war.

Jihadists have declared war on America and the West, yet we are reluctant to even identify them with the religion in whose name they kill us. It's time to take off the gloves.

We must declare war on jihad — and all its participants and supporters — before they can make even deeper inroads.

IBD has consistently been candid about the war on jihad, something the admin insists on misnaming merely as the war on terror.

Drop the gloves, indeed. We are fighting by the Marquess of Queensberry rules. This will only serve to make the fight go on for many more rounds.

Indeed, the biggest myth going is that Islam has been "hijacked" by the terrorists. No, the only thing that's been hijacked is the truth about fundamentalist, radical Islam, which makes holy war against infidels a sacred duty for Muslims.

Rush, Hannity, Levin, and others who have a platform to spread the message have even bought into this myth....and, of course, the MSM denys that islam is anything other than peaceful.

Islam does not try to hide what it is, or it's objectives. Every lunatic "leader" of islam has looked us in the eye and promised to kill us all....and I happen to believe them. I can't help it if Ms. Pelosi and Mr Murtha don't believe...maybe they will when the knife first slices into their necks.

My hope is that there is someone in our government who also believes in the muslim message and objectives. If there is not, I am concerned that "we the people" are being forced into getting directly involved, other than sending money.

When the next attack comes in the U.S., The "cut and runners" in our own government should be held equally responsible with the muslim terrorists....and should be severly dealt with....like a 9x12 at Gitmo?

You'd never know we were at war with a barbarian culture bent on destroying our way of life.

Absolutely true. And consider further the support they enjoy among our news media, especially at the New York Times, which accuses us of "bullying" Iran and openly longs for the return to power of the Baathists in Iraq. The larger truth is that we face both an enemy abroad and an enemy at home, the latter of which is increasingly willing to let the mask slip to reveal its bitterly anti-American face.

I'm short on sleep, so I'll probably change my mind tomorrow, but at the moment, I find it amusing to imagine how it must piss the jihadis off that most Americans don't give them much thought at all. Poor old Ayman al-Zawahiri, deranged Doctor of al-Qaeda Jihad, cooling his heels in some dirt-floor cave or in the basement of some Pakistani hovel, making audio tapes and video tapes threatening the infidels of the world, and getting angrier and angrier as we laugh at him. There's nothing a self-important bleater fears more than to not be taken seriously. Keep dodging those 1000-lb bombs, Doc; meanwhile, it's almost Super Bowl Sunday...

Once again, there is no clash of civilizations, only internal civil war in the West. Militant Islam isn't powerful enough to threaten the West. Islamic terrorism in the West is a product of the suicide of the West. The real problem is elites (and through brainwashing much of the population as well) who believe it is immoral to hold their own territory for their own people and culture, that nations are obsolete, and that by immolating their own people (particularly since that people's accomplishments are an anathema to egalitarianism) they will set an example to world and usher in a one world culture and society. The author of this piece starts out mentioning the Muslim terrorists in Britain then goes on to say that Jihad is an intrinsic characteristic of Islam, but fails to question why those Muslims are in Britain in the first place.

"You'd never know we were at war..."

Maybe there's a reason the Framers required the Executive to get a declaration from Congress before going to war. I'm just sayin'...

"Once again, there is no clash of civilizations, only internal civil war in the West......" An important point, worth remembering. Thanks for calling my attention to it. Also. reading some of your previous posts, much valuable thinking for me to consider.
