Clinton makes a strong promise on Iraq
Spoke to the DNC, along with other fellow '08 Democrats

(New York - WABC, February 2, 2007) - Senator Hillary Clinton, under fire for her fairly weak opposition to the war in Iraq, is coming out with her strongest words yet against the war.

She says if the war's not over on inauguration day, and she's elected president, she'll end it. As we see the war getting worse and worse, we see Hillary Clinton becoming more and more critical.

Her past support of the war may complicate things for her political future.

**SNIP**

Clinton today spoke before the Democratic National Committee, as did almost every other Democrat running for president.

*SNIP**

Former Senator John Edwards has apologized for his vote to go to war. Today he chastised Bush for his refusal to change.

"This president describes himself as the decider. I got news for you Mr. president, you're not the decider. The American people are the decider and they have decided upon you a very long time ago," he said.

At Friday's DNC meeting in Washington, a few anti-war activists heckled Senator Clinton. They have dogged her every move because of her 2002 vote. But so far, it doesn't seem to be hurting her that much. She remains the clear front runner.

I have a serious question:

ALL the pictures I have seen of Hitlery lately -- whether from Reuters, AP, or whoever -- have looked simply AWFUL! Not just the raddled complexion, sidelit for maximum cratered effect on the wrinkles; the expressions and gestures seem to be calculated to make her look as bad as possible.

A short time ago (as recently as last fall), you had to look pretty hard to find a candid shot, and all the wire photos were flattering to say the least -- not quite as flattering as that cover shot for her book, but still nothing like what's coming across the wires now. The Reuters pic this morning with her blurred hand mostly blocking her face was bad -- this one's worse.

WHO has decided to do this, and WHY?

P.S. BadDog. Love your tag line. How many? What color?

How about this attractive shot as she appears at Bellevue mental hospital?

I just keep praying to St. Jude that she will be exposed.

Ooh where can I find a link to this? I want to show it to some liberals on another forum I frequent, SOMD.com (Southern Maryland.com) and watch their heads spin.

Sadly, my two labs were put down a few years ago and I miss them dearly. Bobby was a chocolate and Joey was a yellow from the same litter. We spent many afternoons walking them and throwing the ball into the lake on the Chicago waterfront near Diversey Harbor. Both guys were great to be with and good to the kids.

You will never find a better family dog than a Labrador Retriever, in my humble opinion. They are strong friendly dogs who are true friends. I took a steak bone out of Bobby's mouth once and he only looked at me to ask me why. And Joey chested up to a pit bull and won. I miss them. So do the kids.

Aw, I'm so sorry. I hope that you'll be able to let a Lab or two back into your life soon. I'll never be without them again.

I have a 5 year old Chocolate and a 5 MONTH old Black, both girls. They are splendid dogs, my Choc has won many agility titles and a hunting title, she's fearless and a great hunter, plus she's a noisy watch dog and sweet with the children. Talk about pit bulls, we met a loose one while we were out walking and she stared him down. Here is her "don't mess with me" stare -- I interrupted a tug of war for the toy --

The little girl is too young to do anything but pick up puppy bumpers and duck wings, but she's funny and sweet and full of puppy energy.

You could go into the pen of the boy who sired my Choc and pick up his food dish, and he would be like, "You're going to bring that back, aren't you?" He was a sweet old lovable boy, probably couldn't have found a bird in a phone booth if you poured ketchup on it (he was a show champion) but my Choc's mother was a high powered field trial bitch -- she takes after her mom. The Black is mostly field trial, has a little conformation in her so she has the proper head and the otter tail.

What kind of Lab do you think you might go for, when you decide to get another?

those are beautiful girls. The rest of our story is that we got a cockapoodle shortly after, and that little guy is right for our family while the kids grow up. Max is a good little guy and he would be running with the labs right now if he had the opportunity, but small dogs are different. You know what I mean.

Well, Labs have been known to engage in the "Technicolor Yawn", mostly after eating some non-food item or other. I've cleaned up dog barf and cat barf too . . . just one of the wonderful perks of owning livestock . . .

I've gotten so heavily into competition since I got my first Lab that I don't think I could go for a cockerpoo. They're smaller and hence less trouble I guess, but it's still Labs for me (maybe you could get one to keep Max company?)

I also had two labs, both black, and they are without a doubt the best dogs in the world. After I had to put down my last one I thought to myself that if God has a dog sitting next to him on the throne in heaven it will be a lab. They are no doubt the best family dogs in the world.

Who knows. Right now its a choice of allocation of time resources. And Max is all we can handle right now. I didn't mention we are city dwellers at the moment. My next best thing is to enjoy my friends and their Labs like yours. And yours really are beauties.

You're right -- city dwellers have to allot an enormous amount of time to keeping their Labs in enough exercise!

We live in rather bucolic suburbia -- we are up on a bluff overlooking the Chattahoochee river, so there are acres of open fields (flood plain) within easy walking distance, not to mention a large wet river and a couple of tributary creeks and ponds for Labs to get wet in (they don't seem to care that it's freezing cold). There's a polo club with two enormous (300 x 150 yard) level grass playing fields 3 blocks from our house. Plus we're within easy driving distance (less than an hour) of a couple of farms owned by members of our hunting club, where the club has regular training sessions. And our agility club has an indoor and outdoor arena. So there are lots of exercise opportunities! Not like being in downtown Atlanta where they fence off 2/3 of an acre and call it a dog park . . .

Thank you for your kind words about my girls. Shelley sends you a polite kiss on the cheek, Ruby sends you an enthusiastic Full Facial with Backflips.
