Webb's second wife is Jo Ann Krukar, a health care lobbyist, who assisted in his 2006 Senate campaign.

I cannot bear to watch any Rat on with Timmah because he behaves like they pay him to do the interview. It is way past fawning, and it just seems like Timmah is getting sloppier and less effective.

I watch it to reaffirm my votes for Republicans. As pi$$ed off as I get over the mistakes made by Republicans, our country is far better off with President Bush vs. anybody on the Democrat side.

When Timmy & Chrissy have Democrats on their shows, they let them go on and on and on and on.... When Republicans (except for Hagel and McCain) are on, they're given a 5-10 second time to answer the questions. Timmy & Chrissy aren't listening, because they'll have their pre-printed followup questions, whether or not they relate to the discussion of the previous question.

How about the dark horse, handsome Texas Senator?

Or the really dark horse, Tony Snow?

10 Things You Didn't Know About John Edwards
http://www.usnews.com/usnews/news/articles/070201/1edwardsfacts.htm

Snip:

7. One of his first assignments in Washington was to help oversee depositions for the Senate trial regarding President Clinton's conduct with Monica Lewinsky. His evenhanded approach to the matter earned him bipartisan praise.

Am I the only one that didn't know this?

Jim is a great husband and father

Yeah, he's had enough practice at it.

doing the "Hanky-Panky", "Hokey-Pokey"

Covered...see above....

long walks in Arlington Cemetery

Very tasteful. It's about as classy as the female VP candidate jogging through Arlington in the movie The Contender

Replace Molly with Ann? Yeah, that's an idea; I'm sure they're working on it as we type.

You DID notice the sarcasm alert? I'd like to see Ann's column in the Austin paper. The libs here would go totally ballistic. They can't stand George Will's columns now, and they would really have a problem with Ann.

Well, I didn't.

And anything that earns bi-partisan praise... The dems don't praise anything that is fair and balanced and the senate pubbies at the time were wimps.

(still are, for that matter)

Biden is Michael Schiavo and Edwards is George Felos.

You've hit the nail on the head.

Not to you alone, but we all have to remember Democrats won last November without a "plan" on almost everything. I presume they don't feel a need to have a plan now as long as they can criticize every existing plan.

I think we need to pin them down better than we did last year by making them support or oppose all the various alternatives to whatever they are complaining about.

Tom Vilsack is on CNN right now...and when Wolf pointed out that he is last in polling for Dems.

Vilsack said that at this time before Bill Clinton was elected the first time...Clinton was ranked 13th.

However, I keep hearing that Clinton and McCain and the other top runners are gobbling up the money and the political aides and workers so fast..that anyone coming in late will have nothing left.

I am not giving an opinion...just reporting what I have heard.

Lord knows I've been wrong as often as anyone, but I continue to believe a governor or past governor has a better chance of winning.

So would I. Are the "transcripts" of the Sunday Talk Shows edited by the speakers (a la _The Congressional Record_) or are they verbatim ("raw") records of what was ACTUALLY said at the time?

I was being sarc as well. But it's a funny idea.

My liberal son called me and said, "I guess you're happy today." Then he mentioned Molly's passing. I said, "no, I'm not glad she's dead." Then he quoted (same story) about how funny she was.

So I said, I guess it depends on your point of view. I think Ann Coulter is funny. Much as we might hate to admit it, she's kind of the Molly of the Right (and I mean that in both senses of the word).

He didn't say much after that, but I never argue politics with my dear little boy. He just fell into the dark side because of his liberal wife.

They are basically telling the public that we can never trust our intel agencies ever again.

I'm not sure I'm quite ready to trust our intel agencies again. If they were so wrong about WMD (I'm not saying they were...I think much info remains highly classified), how can they be right now?

Both parties glean the information that suits their interests, while belittling the intel that doesn't suit their purpose. I doubt there's been significant turnover in these agencies, so why should I trust them?

Yeah, I know. Democrats have a unique problem because Hillary has more money than any previous candidate has ever had to run, and she's a force that is probably impossible to overcome on their side.

Or maybe a one-term senator (John Cornyn) or a really attractive press secretary (Tony Snow).

Maybe one or the other in 2012...they'll still be young.

Well-- in the '06 elections, the Dems went to the red states and recruited "conservatives" to run...yes- Dem conservatives..they are now called the "Blue Dog Democrats." I am just giving you the facts here, so don't bite my head off-- Webb- as much as I don't like him- is actually more "conservative" than Mr "macaca." (sp)... just look at his record.. he was not really conservative...then he seemed to get a bit enamored with the attention and had to make that dang "macaca" comment... we have all been there...you grow up wishing you were the "popular" one.. the head cheerleader, or star quarterback...then suddenly one day you are at a party or gathering and look up and notice that you seem to have everyone's attention...you get excited, want to savor this moment, so you keep "performing"- trying to make the moment last as long as you can...savoring it....but, alas, you end up doing or saying something stupid.... anyway-- I think NEWT is the Republican answer to the Blue Dog Dems. The Washington political strategists are saying that a "RED/BLUE" race is unwinnable. They also notice that the "grandma" image is working...."I am a grandma, and my service and stands on the issues are about THEIR future. I am here ot fix things not for me, but for them." You can go to Newt's web site and see this. Newt is talking about right and wrong, not right and left...It is his job to win the hearts and minds of the Conservatives frustrated with the Republicans that have abondoned the Contract with America and the registered Dem voters that think their leadership is too liberal, and of course the anti-Hillary crowd...I he can win their trust, in the end he will say- "(so-and-so) is not MY first choice a President, but for the future of our grandchildren, I will support (so-and-so/RINO/McCain) over Hillary for '08." This is what bugs me about this strategy-- WHY are folks convinced that Newt can't win? Why do they think that McCain would have a better chance at beating Hillary than Newt? Can someone PLEASE explain this to me? I guess since I live in GA, Newt's home state, I am not aware of how the rest of the country sees Newt.....
