I had a meterology professor here at UW Madison who questioned the science behind the global warming idea, and pointed out the fact that there were major warming periods not less than a thousand years ago. I also recall seeing a website or news story about an ice core sample having more CO2 in it during a cold (Ice Age) period than there is in the atmosphere now.

Did he get fired for daring to question the orthodoxy? (And if you think about it, the Left is so fond of talking about "Speaking back to power" however, where global warming is concerned they have the power so by questioning it, we are in fact the dissidents speaking back to Eco Power. Who'd of thunk it.) The only reason I ask is that I used to teach ethics as a philosophy grad student and got hauled in front of a panel because I wouldn't sing a students "Free Mumia" petition and I told her that I thought he was a cop killer. I left the education establishment shortly after and am now happily engaged in working in the real world.
