Here is the photo which adorns the announcement of Gore's attendance:

Sure enough, it's the Heroic Noble Leader Al... suntanned, virile, squinting into the sunlight: visionary, seeing the future, guiding the Little People towards a better fate.

Leni Reifenstahl couldn't have posed him better. I'm not being hyperbolic at all: this pose was a signature of Reifenstahl's, even referenced in her obituary in the New York Times: "heroic poses of Hitler shot from well below eye level."

Call it "Triumph of the Al", then.

You'll be seeing more of this photo. It caught my attention two years ago when I first saw it plastered on a lamp-post in San Francisco. Recognizing it for what it was, it chilled me to the bone-- and it just keeps popping up more and more. Get used to it.

Ol' Al's a lot jowlier now than he was then.

Did anyone see the picture of Al when James Cammeron the movie director was urging the big Bore to run for President?
Gore had his hand over his heart and was bowing with this phony "I'm honored to even be considered" look.
It reminded me of those pictures classic artist did of Julius Caesar when the Senate was offering him the crown.
God what a phony.

Lemmee guess which will be better attended.

"He invented the Internet you know."

And now, according to the article, "he's an active leader in technology and telecommunications". Wow! How does he have the time to be so "active" when he must be inventing the latest cooling technology, because as we all know, we're going to fry!

Al Gore will the the 2008 DemocRat nominee. Mark my words.

He is the only candidate who can unite the loony left moonbat wing of the DemocRat party with the pragmatic stealth-socialist Gramsciian/Clintonian wing.

Keep in mind that money is the mother's-milk of politics, and Al Gore has more than the rest of the candidates combined, thanks to his Google options. And it's all personal money, and it's on top of daddy's considerable Occidental Petroleum bag-money. So there are no strictures to how he spends it.

And he doesn't have to spend it. He's about to get an Oscar and quite possibly a Nobel Peace Prize. He gets all the media attention he wants. He keynotes at geekfests and he bloviates on Oprah. He's fresh off of six years of conditioning and practice and image-building. No more awkward Al. No more image-of-the-week Al: khaki Al, earth-tones Al, roll-of-quarters-stuffed-in-his-briefs Al, roid-rage Al, painted harpy Al. No: Heroic Al. Visionary Al. Right-all-along Al.

Just watch, as the DemocRat primary turns into a circular firing squad and he floats above the fray. Just watch, as der Hildebeast limps into the convention, bloodied and battered and tattered and tired. Just watch, as Heroic Al rides in on a white horse to seize the nomination by acclimation. Just watch, as he chooses Eliot Spitzer, "Mr. Anti-Corruption", as his running-mate, signaling a clean break from the seaminess of the Clinton years.

He'll be unstoppable. Heroic Al.

Just watch.

"Ol' Al's a lot jowlier now than he was then."

More of him to detest? [grin]

Actually, he's a yo-yo dieter, and lately he's reasonably trim, as seen in "An Iconvenient Truth".

I would love to see this scmuck quizzed on his actual technological knowledge. I'll bet he knows very little about technology other than a few buzz words and convenient, we need to share the technology, egalitarian B.S.

"And now, according to the article, "he's an active leader in technology and telecommunications". Wow!

He's on the boards of Google and Apple. Which doesn't mean much... boards are often stupendously passive affairs, but it certainly looks good on a resume. He's also got some next-generation media thing down in L.A., what was its name, oh yeah: Current.

Don't underestimate this guy.

"There they go and I must catch them, for I am their Leader"

Al Gore - laying claim to everything he can see with his 20/20 hindsight.

The Dem party is 60%+ female and they want Hillary now!

No way can Gore beat her.

We can only hope Gore is the Green Party nominee and splits the socialist vote.

Another reason to not use Google and Apple. The only way anyone can underestimate Al is if their imagination can't go that far downward. He knows no "low". And yes, we know he's out here in Lost Angeles, because it's been really cold...in fact, it snowed near Malibu. Wherever Al goes to spew his propoganda about Global Warming, it snows. Just one more moonbat for LA.

It'll be interesting to watch all the moral democrats running for president. Kind of like a cage fight. Why didn't Gore win his home state? What do they know that the general public doesn't?
