The minute the word "Vampyre" goes up, the air will be filled with AA missiles.

Well you can create just as much chaos by sinking a tanker or two & the whole world will go bonkers.

"to show that Iran is able to confront any possible threats."

Except for our counter-measures and that annoying, blinding white flash.

A tanker a "big warship" is not.

Besides, you don't destroy items from your own store (in this instance oil paid for on delivery), do you? It's self defeating and financially destructive destroying your own assets.

One of the first allied actions which may precede any conflict with Iran will be to blockade oil exports from there. All Tankers plying the Straits of Hormuz & into the Arabian sea all don't originate from Iran-hit one or 2,even "accidently" & see oil prices zoom esp if there is simultaneous instability in the Oil Sheikhdoms & Iraq, where Iran does have pockets of influence.

If oil prices shoot up,well we all know what the rest of the world will call for...

IMO, under such a scenario, there won't be any ships allowed in there so there won't be any ships coming out of there, except the ones that are already in port.
I'd love to see the backlash from the regional countries that utilize desalination for drinking water if Iraq were to contaminate the water with oil from tankers they sunk.

P. S. Empty ships waiting to enter the Straits wouldn't leave oil spills. Pipelines to other ports would be humming with activity.

If Iran fires on a US warship...and sinks one...hell will come to them swiftly.

IMO, It will be happening next weekend. 2 carrier battle groups on station, 20,000+ new troops to the area, Baghdad clean up underway, A-10 squadron deployed to Al Anbar Province, New moon, stock market closed next monday, Marine amphib force cleared the Panama Canal heading west several days ago, F-16's recently stationed in Turkey for the first time in years. The administration regularly denying we have any plans to attack.

28 years of interest is going to be a real bitch for them.

If the tanker is full of Iraqi or Kuwaiti oil, the mad mullahs won't be too worried about blowing it up.

Wouldn't denegrate their missiles. On a floating container packed with fuel and explosives, anything could be dangerous.
Lets just hope the Sov, er, Russians didn't sell 'em the Yahkont, or the Indians sell them the BrahMos. Both of 'em are fast (3000 kph) and long ranged (300 km) with sophisticated guidance systems.

What about it? There has to be more to your 'recommendation' to "hark back" else you wouldn't have made the comment.
Do you want me to provide your talking points for you?
