"President Bush issues 16 pardons, one to campaign donor"

"In the pardons issued by the president, 7 of 16 involved drug or alcohol-related offenses. Others included a variety of fraud, kickback, and conspiracy charges."

When you start quoting affectionately from the left-wing moonbats, you should question your own sanity.
Pardons tend to go to non-violent offenders. I think Bush has only pardoned ONE violent offender.
The pardons are virtually all of people who have already served their time, so they are simply wiping the slate clean, not changing their punishment (OK, I understand that the "lifetime impact" of being labelled a felon could be considered part of the punishment).
BTW, I suppose if a person was seriously upset by the post-sentence pardoning of anybody convicted of a drug crime, they should call for all their fellow citizens to turn themselves in if they every USED a drug illegally.
Because they essentially got "pardoned" by the system as well, by not being arrested in the first place.
If you ever smoked a joint, and then sold one to your roommate (I never did either), you could be on this list of people getting pardons now, except for not being caught in the act.
So if you think you should enjoy not being a felon, you shouldn't look too harshly on a president who decides (based on the recommendation of the justice department) that others who were unfortunate enough to get caught should now enjoy the same remainder of life as you will.
