Any strategic analyst would agree with you. What's left of the Russian Federation is without any meaningful re-supply or logistics chain, Euros or dollars to buy fuel, refineries, protected pipelines, an electrical grid to support a wartime industrial base and---it's surrounded by former members of the coerced USSR who cordially hate their former political masters in Moscow and would not willingly allow Russian transit to Western Europe ---as in the Fulda Gap - -with which I am acquainted with every square mile.

Their air defense was obsolete in the 1980s and is virtually non-existant now, airbases untenable with poorly maintained revetments, taxiways, approach systems,no climate controlled hangars for delicate maintenance, no spare parts for the few show-off aircraft and no well trained pilot corps beyond the cadre' now in uniform, no workable reserve structure or recall system, poor training facilities--and a myriad other planner's nightmares.

The Russsian are not coming, the Russians are not coming --Go tell Alan Arkin.

And that doesn't even begin to address the Russians' lack of sea power or the ability to project power to cause a chosen enemy to do its will--which, after all, is the object of international conflict.

The Russians have made incredible advances in their military weaponry since the beginning of the decade.
