Define ugly. I know it's a meme on Free Republic to harp on Helen Thomas' appearance, but wouldn't her spirit be what we should harp on? It's juvenile and sad to keep doing that.

I think you are correct. The problem with ugliness is on the inside. We should be dealing with ideas, not appearances.
I have seen shots of Lady Macbeth Clinton where she was downright attractive (long ago). I am not against her looks but her ideas and methods. Likewise, Helen Thomas is not a newsperson but a plant for evil people.
I hope they build a shrine for A.N.S. in Mexia, Texas. I drove near there once. She started out frying chicken or working at a fried chicken place. Her life was sad. We all contribute to that, I believe. Celebrity kills.
