Absolutely. I was not talking about regular parents. It's the crazy ones I'm concerned about, who would allow their child to die for some crackpot religious theory, for example by refusing to allow medical treatment on their child.

And you'd leave that determiination up to the government. In that case, any parent who disagrees is a crackpot.

So, what makes you think you have the right to decide what is a liegitmate religious belief? What makes you so sure you're right? Why should we have to listen to you just because you think so?

Uhm, no, because there are legitimate concerns about safety, and I understand that. But any person who, for example, refuses a life-saving treatment for his child, because of some crackpot religious theory, is included.

So, what makes you think you have the right to decide what is a liegitmate religious belief?

You're not a moral relativist, are you? Do you think that Islamic parents should have the right to circumcise their daughters? If it's not up to the society to decide whether such harmful activities are allowed, who will decide?
