You're right, it's not just the boys. My observation is that the boys use the girls as a physical outlet, and the girls use the boys as "counters" in the status competitions among girls. This explains why, as one FReeper said, his son was mobbed by girls when he was a bench warmer on the football team, and a pariah when he was a standout cross-country runner the next year.
I think it's an absolutely toxic environment, and gets the young people started on a lifetime of hostile relationships.

You are blaming it on Clinton and peer pressure. How about the fact that urges and curiousity involving sex are a normal part of being a human? Especially during the teen years. No doubt that our culture (i.e. Clinton and peer pressure) play a role, but I wonder how much things have really changed from 60 years ago?
The urges and curiosity have been a normal part of life since the beginning of time.
Maybe that is why the world's oldest profession is the world's oldest profession.
