UFI's Abortion Guide will Open People's Eyes to Abortion
United Families International ^ | 2/5/07 | United Families International

Posted on 02/10/2007 12:32:30 PM PST by wagglebee

Each year, 68,000 women worldwide die of abortion and 144,000 American women are injured by abortion. The media has not reported adequately on the harms and dangers of abortion, but a new booklet produced by United Families International provides a unique and comprehensive look at social science research and history in a way that will open people's eyes to the reality of abortion. The “Guide to Family Issues: Abortion” is the latest in UFI's ongoing series of guide books on hot topics impacting the family.

The publication provides peer-reviewed scient if ic research, expert commentary and sound, logical arguments supporting the pro-life position on the controversial topic of abortion.

The “Guide to Family Issues: Abortion” begins by addressing the essential argument surrounding abortion: is the unborn child human? By quoting embryologists and embryology textbooks, UFI 's publication drives home the point that human l if e begins at conception and deserves protection during all stages from beginning to natural death.

Contrary to popular belief, abortion is seldom a woman's “choice.” Many pregnant women are coerced into abortions they don't want. Research is also clear that “legal abortions” do not guarantee “safe abortions.” Abortion poses many physical risks for women, including breast cancer, damage to internal organs, sterility, any of a host of complications and death. Abortion clinics do not adequately inform women of the risks, nor are they sufficiently regulated.

Additionally, readers will learn:
UFI plans to release several more booklets in the series “Guides to Family Issues” this year. Among the other topics to be covered are divorce, marriage, cohabitation, pornography, sex education, the media's impact on families, population control and environmentalism, pedophilia and others. The aim of the guides is to educate the public, lawmakers, governmental agencies, nongovernmental organizations, families, individuals, media organizations and others on the negative consequences of abortion on women, children, men, families and society;

The abortion booklet is available on the UFI website.

Each year, 68,000 women worldwide die of abortion and 144,000 American women are injured by abortion.

This means that over 10% of American women who have abortions are injured. If any other elective surgical procedure had this level of risk it would be illegal.

I wonder how many abortions there are a year in the US and how many result in death?

There nearly 1.3 MILLION abortions performed every year in the US.

Unfortunately, the abortionists cover-up the number of women who die from abortion (often by attributing the death to other factors), so we don't really know.

There are an estimated 1.6 million abortions per year performed AND an estimated 4 million chemical abortions per year via 'the pill'(oral 'contraceptives'). A mathematical treatise on the latter can be found on www.pfli.org on the 'kemikal killing' link.... it takes you to a www.physiciansforlife.org site, but I'm on my palm right now.... makes it difficult to provide references.

Abortion is just the tip of the iceburg people!!

'Contracepive' pills, patches, vainal rings, IUD's, etc ALL CAUSE ABORTIONS EVERY DAY. They allow concption and cause the developing zygote to be flushed.... all nice and clean-like.....

All in the name of convenience.... There is blood on the hands of those who profess Christ.

Check yourself lest you find yourself in the company of murderers in the life to come.

Contrary to popular belief, abortion is seldom a woman's “choice.”

While the word "seldom" is not defined, this is unlikely to be a true statement. All part of the ongoing attempt to turn the "mothers" into co-victims rather than co-perpetrators.

Not logical and won't hold up over time.

While possibly true, this statement will be used by abortionists to show that pro-life people real goal is to eliminate birth control. Why not concentrate on the obvious and genuine abortions performed?

They die from the complications from abortion. Typically death certificates list the cause of death as
heart failure
that was caused by loss of blood
that was caused by perforated uterus (which would likely not have happened at all if the abortionist had not been poking around in there dismembering the baby. Of course all the above is in perfectly sensible and unemotional medical terminology on the death certificate

So the cause of the death is on the top line and the abortion as a contributing factor may never even make it on the death certificate.

In addition, if a woman dies of an abortion complication her death will be added into maternal mortality statistics.

CDC sort of keeps track of abortion related mortality but the reporting to the CDC is voluntary by the states. In the past California and Florida for example where many abortions are performed chose NOT to report to the CDC.

Tracked this kind of stuff from 1984 until 1999 so we were able to see a lot of death certificates of women who died as a result of complications of abortion and yet no mention of the abortion in any "official" records.

That's easy enough. ALL of them!

"This means that over 10% of American women who have abortions are injured. If any other elective surgical procedure had this level of risk it would be illegal"

And yet were supposed to believe that our young daughters should be able to have the "right" to go through this procedure without our consent or our knowledge.

They cannot get their ears pierced without our signature...but they can have this dangerous procedure done - performed by bottom-of-the-barrel "doctors", in the least hygenic or regulated "health" facilities.

what great progress for women!

I'm just putting it out there brother. It is not my purpose to perform political backflips.... I just feel a very profound call to bring attention to this fairly recent and innocent appearing method of killing Our Father's little ones. It is a very 'effective' killing method claiming 99+ % 'efficacy. Read the literature or even the package inserts on these products to find out for yourself!

Take care in 'PLANNING'(killing) your families. We may just be called to account for our actions!

It is specifically my burden to address this issue within the ranks of those who claim Christ but have been deceived. Beware.

You're completely right. It's amazing how many Christians (sadly even Catholics who should know better) say they are against abortion, but continue to use contraceptives which have the same end result as abortion in many circumstances!

In the past one could claim ignorance, but in this day and age when there are so many resources available to check this out, there can be no excuse for not knowing.

I suppose it's because if something is intrinsically evil (which contraception is), then one must do all one can to make people aware of it, even if it's not as "obvious" as other means of abortion.

IUDs (in particular) and the pill go back quite a few decades. While the patch and some other technologies are really just an alternate way of delivering the hormones in the pill.

Most of these technologies aren't new at all.
