We have a President who allows the National Guard to be ordered to flee from drug traffickers armed invaders of our country, ignores the border problem, and tells us he cares about out national security. -snip- It is past time for this abomination to be brought to an end.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, the GOP is blowing it when it comes to illegal immigration.

Sure, the big-name donors favor illegal immigration and open-border policies and the NAFTA highway that is about to be started in Texas and will run through Oklahoma, Kansas, and beyond to Canada, and Bush certainly has the right to favor them over somebody like you or I.

But we have the right to do one of two things:

Keep electing the same damn Republicans who are selling us out, or...

Elect somebody who will fight illegal immigration, who knows how important national security is (it's harder for my mother to fly from Houston to Dallas than it is for somebody to illegally cross our border).

I didn't leave the GOP - I still have the same values I had 30 years ago when it came to national security, illegal immigration, etc. The GOP, on the other hand, has left me. Unfortunately we have too many people who vote however the GOP wants them to vote, even if they know in their hearts they are getting little better than the liberals with a 'D' instead of an 'R' next to their name.

To af_vet_rr, Back when Scoop Jackson was around, I was a DemocRat, but that party left me. [I know, it was shameful even then, but I was young and ignorant.] Now that I've been a Republican since Reagan, the Republican party seems to be leaving me too. The 'Rats might even get me back if they ran Zell Miller and Joe Lieberman!

Seriously, I think the DemocRats are looking like winners, regardless of who they run, 'cause the Republican base aint gonna turn out for more treatment like we've been getting.

If we want an arrogant elite to rule us, it might as well be the Dims. They can open the borders, suck the brains out of babies and take our guns as well as the next Washington bureaucrat. At least they never claimed to be on our side. Heck we might as well repeal the Revolution and be Brits again!
