Seems to me it was time 20 years ago to trash the entire gubmint and start all over again back at 1776.

As far as I'm concerned the fines and punishment should be far harsher for people who use their positions to do exactly the opposite of what their jobs require.

Damned if they do and damned if they don't!!
In case anyone had doubts, this and the two BP agents sentencing for shooting at the guy trying to sneak drugs in is clear proof that our own government is trying to wreck the BP and force so many defections NO ONE will join or serve in the BP or on the border!!!
IMO, this is becoming actionable by those of us still hoping to preserve our sovereignty.

He'll get off, reduced or commuted sentancing on the first appeal. I can see it now.

Schizo government! Jail time if you let em in and jail time if you keep em out.
Pathetic mess!

"Prosecutors said Gilliland had taken between $70,000 and $120,000 from Torres and her group since 2004."
And what is the worth of the dollar value in the successful political bribe of the Mexican government and the Mexican political class in getting Clinton, Bush and the U.S. Congress to look the other way as millions were knowingly SENT across illegally.
The big political crooks get to use their official positions to excuse their perfidy while the little crooks are used for the public spectacle of pretending that something is being done.

If we were to fine and punish those that have turned a blind eye to allowing illegals in in exchange for money or other things you'd have a long list. The list would include the Governor of Texas, members of Congress and the President too.

Weird idea, but lawyers are supposed to be officers of the court.
Shouldn't they have to give up their license as lawyers in order to run for non judicial posts?
