January 1, 2007 - A national coaltion of citizens, including war veterans, distinguished academics, students, journalists, artists, and elected officials have joined with us to call for a nationwide boycott of all consumer activity, for one week in April..
The organizers of the boycott have recognized the fact, that our elected representatives have been unwilling to move forward on the public's overwhelming demands for impeachment and an end to the war in Iraq.
This boycott is a way of unifying the opposition to the Bush Administration; and according to Dr. Peter Phillips, who was the first to propose the idea in December, "could well be the straw that broke the camel's back".
The boycott has been called in response to the statement by the new Speaker of The House Nancy Pelosi, that the issue of impeachment was "off the table".
This is a free country, and they are free to do this.
I am sure they will be, er, very successful at not buying anything, particularly if they don't have any money anyway.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
Making a note of this time period. this will be my week to take inventory and stock up on everything i need and buy a few things i don't need.
Maybe they should stock up on their meds before the boycott...
How utterly cute! Wrecking the U.S. economy is what al-Qaeda was attempting to do. Nice to see the "anti-Iraq-democracy and pro-brutal-totalitarianism" crowd on the same page as al-Qaeda.
This is where I stopped reading because of the giggle factor.

LOL. What an idiot.
What a waste of time. Obviously these people do NOT have jobs.
Losers. Obviously, there's a few cute deranged chicks involved here, this 'movement' would have absolutely no followers if dudes weren't trying to have sex with them.
Their boycott might be effective if they forwswore their government benefits for a week:)
You're joking. Right?
Yeah, their combined $250.00 that they won't spend will really hurt.
What about a Freeper boycott on all goods from the obvious sources?
For example: It's been at least six years since I've gone to the movies, and rare for me to even rent one. The obvious propaganda and bias infuriates me, and I just don't support them anymore. I'll catch the occasional one on TV, but usually am disappointed.
I haven't purchased a CD in over 7 or 8 years. I get by on radio, where I can find a station I like, and when something (like Dixie Chicks) comes on, I change the channel.
I personally boycott in many ways.
Scott Orr or The Onion must have put this out.
Oh gooooooody!! The stores will be less crowded and probably have great bargains to counter the boycott.
I JUST LOVE IT!!!
they dont have enough money to buy big ticket items anyhow..screw em..on the upside, this will make it easier for me to get groceries that week without having to deal with smelly hippies and disgruntled conspiracy theorists.
BS. Boycotts are a joke. Nervous Nellies stock up the day/week before the "boycott." So where' the lack of sales? Simple economics and market forces prove boycotts are rarely effective. As for a boycott ruining our economy... that's a bigger joke than Al Gore's global warming scare tactics.
"The sky is falling!"
Most of them are just out of College, a job and suffering from severe disillusionment and culture shock.
They've discovered that the World is nothing like their Professors said it was.
Pitiful.
About as original and effective as "Not One Damn Dime!" day.
Great idea! I'm going to start budgeting so I can make some major purchases during this period.
"Not One Damn Dime Day" didn't work and now they think a "Not One Damn Dime Week" is going to work? None of them can avoid Starbucks that long!
Dr. Peter Phillips another anti-American pro terrorist Nazi who is being paid with my and your tax money to help the enemy take over our country.
I'm sure you forgot a few categories :)

A google search reveals the muzzie for what he is; an idiot.
From the site:
"Consumers are asked to withhold their spending for seven days, beginning on Sunday April 15 and lasting until Sunday April 2, 2007.
Do NOT shop corporate outlets
Minimize use of oil and gas.
Carpool: bus, bike or walk.
If you buy, BUY LOCALLY.
Plan Ahead and Stock Up."
Please explain to me how a boycott like this works, when they're telling people to 'stock up' the weeks ahead? Wouldn't that just even things out?
ROFLMAO!
The one truth of why they will not impeach GW is because they do not want Dick Cheney in the presidents chair, that is the only real true reason, period
This boycott will last right up until the weekly newpaper advert circulars arrive.
Yeah, just think of the havoc it will cause on the economy when all these people without any money stop spending.
Streissand's picture has inspired me to boycott crack hos.
People who do absolutely nothing conducting a boycott. Gosh, don't hurt yourself!
Heeeeyyy.... This is a 'Logic Free' Zone. There will be no clear, rational thinking in this area.
Sounds like you need to change grocery stores anyways, if you meet smelly hippies and conspiracy theorists on a regular basis in the grocery store
Folks, look at the bright side. This is funny!!
In the old days, the communists would call a general strike. These modern reds are so soft, they they will just stop buying stuff for one measly week. Of course, they will continue to work (those who are employed), but will just try to disrupt the economy of others.
It is so looney. They are to refrain from consumer activities, yet many of those participants (those who are employed) are probably in the business of selling to others in some way. After all, they can't all be living on welfare or trust funds. So they are urging everyone to go to work, but to do nothing. That is probably the way many of them act most of the time, anyway.
I love to observe how stupid these anti-Americans can be: it gives me a sense of confidence. Surely they will not be able to lead our country long.

It's funny to me that these dummies would boycott. On my street we've got a good mix of conservatives and DUmmies. Guess who has much more stuff on the road on grabage day? Here's a hint: it ain't the conservative households.
"....public's overwhelming demands for impeachment and an end to the war in Iraq."
Delusional.

COBRA64: You're joking. Right?
No! I am as serious as a heart attack!
