Ya know what? I'm a ciggie smoker questing to quit soon, and its not because of 'taxes'. But for all I care, why doesn't the friggin' Gubment just BAN the damn things and then renounce all the tax revenue that is generated from their sale and which goes into the the state/fed coffers?

Obviously they won't do that because tobacco sales is a cash cow for the states/feds.

What a bunch of two-faced hypocrites.

I read somewhere that Ohio has been very effective in getting smokers to quit, due to high tobacco taxes. They're now expecting a series shortfall, due to falling tobacco sales. So, they want to raise taxes (again) on cigarettes.

When you get ready to quit, give Chantix a try. It's a newer medicine and works great. I have yet to hear of anyone who has used it and failed. I know since it worked for me, it should work for anyone. Best of luck! Even with the great meds, it still has it's moments where you have to focus.
