Columbus, Ohio (AP) -- Gov. Ted Strickland said he would welcome Iraqi refugees to Ohio, clarifying his comments last week were meant to express frustration with President Bush instead of the people displaced by the war.

The Democrat told The Associated Press last week he was not inclined to accommodate any refugees because doing so would help bail out the president.

"I am sympathetic to the plight of the innocent Iraqi people who have fled that country," he said. "However, I would not want to ask Ohioans to accept a greater burden than they already have borne for the Bush administration's failed policies."

On Monday, he said he had been attempting to express his frustration with the Bush administration and the Iraq war, which he opposed

Apparently he missed the 2000 and 2004 elections where Ohioans voted for Bush over the Democrat flip-flopper.

Lest we forget, it is not within the jurisdiction of a State Governor to grant entry or citizenship to a foreign national.

Gov. Ted Strickland said he would welcome Iraqi refugees to Ohio,

after an adviser told him that that Americans of Iraqi origins vote heavily Democrat.

My cat usually does the opposite of what she thinks I want her to do. I wonder whether Bush could herd Democrats, by faking them out.

"I am sympathetic to the plight of the innocent Iraqi people who have fled that country,"

But he cares not a bit for those who stayed to fight for their own freedom...typical RAT!

Strickland, a Methodist minister, apparently has read the Bible about fair treatment of aliens in the land, but his LDV Bible (Liberal Democrat Version) provides an exception: this is the famous "Bush" exception in Hezekiah 28:17 "Remember the aliens and strangers in the land, excepting those in the time of Bush..."

I can't believe that the media doesn't remember that passage.

My email to Gov. Strickland:

Governor -

Regarding the Iraqi refugees comment you made and the subsequent retraction:

Keep on talking. It's entertaining. This is going to be a fun 4 years.
