Anyone who rules out supporting Giuliani is being short-sighted.
Rudy will make a good leader, he will take very seriously the nation's defense and security, and he will appoint good judges. The rest is fluff, mostly in the hands of Congress anyway. The purist tantrum-throwers will eventually calm down and be gratified that there is not a rat in the White House on January 20th, 2009. THAT would be a disaster.
There, that's better.
It's a long, long way to Tipperary. However among the certified RINOs Rudy is possibly the only one who could get this pro-life, social conservative to vote in 2008.
He needs to keep talking like he's been doing, then pick a socially conservative Veep (I like Steele). He also needs to get a handle on an acceptable immigration policy. One that keeps our border patrol agents out of the slammer and keeps illegals on their side of the Rio Grande.
For all the bellyaching about Rudy not being conservative enough, I am hard pressed to see how he could do worse than President Bush..., though I'm sure I'll be told.
