I've been bellydancing, so hopefully it will eventually work. I just don't get it, though. My clothes are looser, I look smaller than last year, but my waist is measuring the same. Ergh!

I know. Unfortunately, for both men and women after the age of 30 even if your weight stays the same or is less some of it just settles in around the waist and stays there. It has something to do with androgens (male hormones that both genders have) that go up slightly as estrogen goes down in your 30s and 40s. It's hard to fight biology - but the sexiest belly dancers do have a bit of softness around the belly because it makes the undulations look more inviting. So keep up the belly dancing!
