Scorn is fine, and deserved, but I don't think the guy deserved to be fired for a momentary lapse in judgment. It's not like he was actively lobbying his state legislature.
I'll never understand the need some people have to destroy other people's careers over something they said. Write a letter to the editor, sure, but don't take away the guy's job.
I take it then that those with a scoped 308 are carrying a terrorist gun. (sniper rifle)
