>>>>>>You may be a long time FReeper in good standing, Ivan, but your loud interference in our political process at some point becomes unseemly, IMO, seeing how you're not an American. Especially when the noise you're making is in favor of a guy to the left of your current Labor Party Prime Minister.<<<<<<

Oh please....I used to actively post, but its comments like yours that make me just lurk and comment mostly with people I know to be reasonable folks, willing to involve themselves in an exchange of ideas. MadIvan is a decent guy, has been extraordinarily supportive of the USA during the period after 9/11 and by all rights makes level headed replies to posts.

The FreeRepublic used to be an area where conservatives could discuss their opinions and with some exceptions never expected to be blasted by others. Lately, things are awfully acerbic.

There's nothing conservative about Giuliani. He's a flaming liberal.

I agree. He and I have seldom been at odds. But I draw the line when folks undertake to try and give our country's leadership to a guy who thinks racist eugenicist Margaret Sanger's "work" is "respectable," who tries to sue gun manufacturers out of business, who defies the law in defense of hundreds of thousands of illegal foreign nationals who have invaded NYC, who has been in bed with the radical gay activists for years, and who will, if nominated, lay waste to the Reagan GOP electoral coalition. Capiche?

I'm afraid I'm guilty of being 'awfully' acerbic. It is in direct retaliation for the abuses you, and others, have noticed. It is my opinion that the caricatures are demonrat plants, fifth columnists, imbedded within our ranks to stir trouble and keep us at each others throats. There is one way to combat this, and that is be respectful of the supporters of our loyal opposition in the primary season. Disrespect returns disrespect and disrespect breeds contempt.

Go Duncan Hunter!

Really? Must have been in the 7 months between when you signed up and when I signed up. I've been called every name in the book on FR and it taught me to toughen up, let the dumb stuff roll off my back, and forgive people who go over the top and feel bad about it.

I love the rough-and-tumble as long as the attacks aren't personal. Every politician should be fair game--especially those who want conservative votes but despise us and our positions.

And then what happened? The RINOs took over the RNC and the government, and their sympathizers became more vociferous on the forum, so that many conservatives fled or went quiet. Now is a time of awakening, where the forum will become conservative again.

If you're going to be friends with RINOs and their supporters, be prepared to see their ideas vigorously opposed.
