Last evening about 10:30 or so, my family (ex-wife and 2 children) were involved in a near head-on collision on Hwy 9 north of Windward Parkway in Alpharetta, Georgia. I'm working up here in Richmond, Virginia so I was unable to get there..Instead I got one of those dreaded panic calls.
In speaking with my youngest daughter this morning, she said she's ok but pretty bruised up but that a lot of people stopped to help including a nurse and doctor (both passing by the scene of the accident)..
If by chance any of those who stopped to help were FReepers, my heartfelt thanks for providing assistance..
Everyone is ok, just pretty bruised up, the car is totaled..the guy that turned left in front of them is a foreign national (immigration status unknown) but he did have insurance..he was cited for failure to yield and expired drivers license..
Again, if any FReepers stopped, my heartfelt thanks..

Thank Goodness they are alright! I drive alot up and down the highways, and people are making such bad judgement decisions in driving. It is a pretty scary situation out there. Nice to know that people stopped to help.
thank goodness they are ok....
I hope you went to church today and thanked God for letting your family walk away from certain death. They are truly blessed, as you are. Glad they are doing well. Whew!!!
I'm so glad that your family is OK. Two years ago my 16 year-old was in a head-on on I-45 here in Texas. The other car was full of illegals--no insurance. After coming across the median in the dark, they managed to pile out and run off, leaving the car my son was in facing north in the southbound lane with no lights, with oncoming traffic. The doors were jammed shut from the collision, and my son was knocked out cold.
I don't know how it is that he's alive and OK, but he is, with only a scar to show for it.
