Interesting...
There is a black family on the Eastern Shore that shares the surname with Mrs. Reb's father's family in Baltimore. According to census records, both families were in Maryland for a very long time, but there is no record of a blood or other connection. This may be due to poor record keeping, deliberate obfuscation or that the names are merely a coincidence. I do know that the spelling did vary a bit.
