Top UN court rules Serbia not guilty of genocide

The United Nations' highest court has ruled that although the 1995 Srebrenica massacre constituted genocide, Serbia was not responsible for it. However, the court did conclude that Serbia had failed to stop the killings from going ahead.

Court president Rosalyn Higgins said: "It must therefore be concluded that the organs of the respondent did nothing to prevent the Srebenica massacres."

The ruling by the International Court of Justice concludes a case brought by Bosnia against Serbia on whether Serbia was guilty of genocide during the 1992-95 Balkans war. Judge Higgins added that the court was not convinced that in other mass killings of Bosnian Muslims the perpetrators had the specific intent to commit genocide.

During the Srebrenica massacre in July 1995, some 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys were shot dead by Serbian troops and buried in mass graves in what was supposed to be a UN safe-haven. It is is the first time a state has been on trial for genocide, which was outlawed in 1948.

I don't respect the court that ruled this.

Guardian:

"Serbia cleared of genocide but not Srebrenica"

Serbia was guilty of failing to prevent the genocide of some 8,000 Bosnian Muslims at Srebrenica in 1995, the UN's highest court ruled today.

But the international court of justice cleared Serbia of direct responsibility for genocide and complicity in genocide in Bosnia, in the 1992-1995 war.

The decision took the form of several votes. In the key verdict, the court decided by 13 votes to two, that Serbia had "not committed genocide, through its organs or persons whose acts engage its responsibility under customary international law". In another vote, however, the court found by 12 votes to three, that Serbia had "violated the obligation to prevent genocide".

"During the Srebrenica massacre in July 1995, some 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys were shot dead by Serbian troops and buried in mass graves "

Clinton told the American people that it was 250,000 in mass graves. Oh well, his lies are okay.

Out of 8,000 comabatants (not "boys") only 1,200 are confirmed to be found burried in region of Srebrenica, and out of that "8,000" only 400 were identified as someone connected to Srebrenica. Most of 1,200 bodies hade sharapnel wounds and were killed in combat.
Allmost 90% of Srebrenica "victimes" are dugged-out all around Bosnia and instantly labeled as "Srebrenica victimes".

First of all there was no genocide in Bosnia in 1990-ties. Second, Bosnia took this case to ICJ to cover up the real genocide in Bosnia that happened in WWII. The genocide of Serbs in WWII has no statute of limitation, like the Holocaust. That was the biggest problem of the Islamofascists,

Last but not least, United States does not recognize International Court of Justice.

What is exactly your problem? Believing in things that did not happen or not respecting the court otherwise not recognized by the U.S.?

there was no genocide and even the strecth of Kangaroo court could not go that far.

MInd the propaganda here:

"During the Srebrenica massacre in July 1995, some 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys were shot dead by Serbian troops and buried in mass graves in what was supposed to be a UN safe-haven"

Pay attention to the word "Serbian" implying that the trops belonged to Serbia. They did not. The troops were Bosnian Serbs.

Anyone conversant in propaganda techniques will stop reading here and file this article under "islamofascist BS."

Poor George Soros. He invested 50 million dollars hoping for a lion's share of $100B windfall.

Expect to hear hysterical cries from his quarters.

"It must therefore be concluded that the organs of the respondent did nothing to prevent the Srebenica massacres."

But... but... can't exactly the same thing be said about the (inaction by the) UN forces?

Tomorrow's headline:

"UN Guilty Of Failing To Prevent Genocide In Rwanda Case"

Oops, nevermind...

See how the truth has ways to come out. It is not "Srebrenica genocide" but "Srebrenica massacres".

In legalese, massacre is killing of at least 5 people simultaneously.

Howvever, the war actions where 5 people die are not consider massacres and ICJ knows that.

ICJ weaseled out from Srebrenica hoax without saying explicitly that it is a hoax.

In a word, kronos, you lie.

As of last July, over 2,600 Srebrenica related victims had been identified from those recovered from mass graves which litter the Republika Srpska's territory, and the mass graves are still being exhumed to this day, with 1,153 bodies being exhumed from a Srebrenica related mass grave near Zvornik last year, and further sites slated to be excavated this year.

Further, featuring prominently in the testimony of forensic scientists who were called during Srebrenica related trials at the ICTY are words like "ligatures", and "blindfolds", which give the lie to your assertion regarding battle-related deaths. The Serbs were too lazy and unconcerned to police up bodies from the battlefield, and populated their mass graves with folks who could be herded to their execution sites and then dispatched by bullet.

Immediately after Srebrenica, lies like yours may have sufficed. But in the ensuing decade, the veil of deceit generated by those like you to try and deny the slaughter and obscure the subsequent "hide the bodies" campaign has been pierced and shredded.

Your only hope remains in preying upon the ignorance of anyone still clueless enough to listen to your lies, which is pretty much the way it's always been for those looking to excuse or deny Serbia's Milosevic era crimes.

The big lie! The 8,000 number has never been proven. Regardless of the number, are we to believe that all were shot (by Bosnian Serbs)? What about artillery fire and land mines, not to mention those that were killed by other Bosnian Muslims. Finally, once the Bosnian Muslim troops left the so-called "safe-haven" aren't they subject to be engaged like any other military force?

Srebrenica was an elaborate hoax designed to keep attention away from the real genocide... Operation Storm!

Meanwhile, one million are slaughtered in Rwanda, and Bill and Maddie turned cartwheels to avoid using the word "genocide."

And they call him our First Black President?!?!?

Im ignoring you. But for simple truth: http://srpska-mreza.com/Bosnia/Srebrenica/suicidal-run.html "The above map clearly explains why round 2,000 Srebrenica Muslims lost their lives. The decision that the 28th Muslim Division should refuse to lay down its arms and embark on a break-through along a 100km-long route in the hardest of military operations, for which it was not prepared in view of the prior retreat of command personnel, amounted to a conscious sacrifice of round two thousand Muslim men of military age. The Western allies would do their best to present it as no less than genocide. They would any trick they could think of to boost the number. They will lie that 8,000 Srebrenica Muslims perished and that the Serbs, in cold blood, executed these men" You said:

"with 1,153 bodies being exhumed from a Srebrenica related mass grave near Zvornik last year, and further sites slated to be excavated this year."

Look at the upper part of the map- Last ambush on running Muslim troos at Snagovo, 5 miles FROM ZVORNIK! There is the mystery of your "murdered" Muslims near Zvornik!
