Of the also-rans, Senator Sam Brownback, a Kansas fundamentalist, is unlikely to travel well.

Dundamentalist? Brownback is just your run of the mill observant Catholic, of course to the Boston Globe that's as exotic as a three headed freak.

Chuck Hagel is DOA on the national scene. Stick a fork in him, he's done.

Kuttner is a socialist wanker pretending to be an economist..... the idea that he is an "objective" and "expert" analyst on the political prospects of potential presidential nominees of either party is too ludicrous to laugh about.

"DEMS STRONGEST IN DECADES"

I agree. The smell is overpowering.

Yeah, another nutter piece by Kuttner that rightly belongs in the gutter.

The Globe is stating the obvious.

The Glob is full of feces as usual. First of all, most conservatives don't give a rip about Romney's religion (who's the strongest of the big three, IMO). The only people making it an issue is the lamestream media.

Second of all, candidates like Hunter and Tancredo, and possibly Governors Gilmore and Thompson will heat up in the polls as conservatives will reject Rudy & McCain's liberal records.

I think we got a good crop of Republican candidates here. The Dim candidates are all weak, which is why the media always stick its nose into Republican Party politics all the time.

Ironically, the consensus top two candidates are the two weakest general election candidates. Richardson, Edwards, Gore (if he decides to run) would all be harder to beat in the general election than either Hillary or Obama. What I meant was the field is so strong because both parties are running democrats.

Sadly, I agree with the observation.

Have you lost your mind? You think Hillary is the strongest Dem "in decades?"

"I think we got a good crop of Republican candidates here."

I can only shake my head. Does the RNC give you a choice in the favor of Koolaide they serve up?

BTW...I lived in both NH and MA. I know the reputation of the Globe and for once they got something correct.

Maybe so, but I have to agree with the Globe. The Dems are at the strongest and I think Obama can INCREASE democratic power by a factor of 4. I think the republican congressional loss is still in effect until election season is over...
