An internal document shows Mitt Romney's presidential campaign is concerned about his vulnerability to charges of flip-flopping, while suggesting he can differentiate from President Bush with a single word: "intelligence."

Is he trying to suggest the president isn't intelligent? If that's the case, then he doesn't need to just lighten up on the Aqua Spray, he needs to stop inhaling.

Right now, Mitt makes Bush seem like Reagan. He's got potential, but I'm not sure how you lose the flip flopper stigma.

CBS news quotes unknown sources from deep inside Romney's campaign suggesting Bush is dumb and behold, freepers are already falling for the bait?

"Romney spokesman Kevin Madden declined to verify the document's authenticity in response to a request from The Associated Press.

"Outside consultants routinely offer input and analysis — both solicited and unsolicited — on the dynamics of a political campaign all the time," Madden said. "But we cannot and will not verify any documents that are not marked Romney for President Inc." _______________________________________

I wouldn't place too much importance on this leaked information. Rumor is that Mitt likely hasn't even seen this document. George W. and Laura (and Jeb) are friends with Mitt and Ann Romney.

As far as changing positions, Mitt moved consistently to the right in his term as Governor taken from his record, and those type of flips are not a flop in my book.

After looking closely at Romney's record as Governor on issues of social and fiscal conservatism, I'd swap Mitt for my Gov. Rick Perry of Texas and even President Bush in a heartbeat. See my tagline for the evidence.

Lest you think I'm a Bush basher, let me say that I worked in the campaign organization of George W. Bush when he ran for Governor of Texas and I was a Bush delegate at the 2000 Republican National Convention in Philadelphia. I'm a great admirer of President Bush.
