This "terrorism" tactic has exposed the soft, timid and fearful underbelly that our society has developed.
There are those who say conservatives must accept what was formally unacceptable to them so as to allow our government to protect us...A little socialism might be necessary to protect us from another 911 after all you know...and it has been said by some here "what good is the Constitution if we're all dead".
What has happened to the fierce independent American spirit?
For my entire generation we stood toe to toe and eyeball to eyeball with the ideology of two of the most infamous terrorist's of all time, Marx and Lenin. Nuclear annihilation was a blink of an eye away for an entire generation of us but the talk in our Halls of Congress and the words we heard from the White House were not words of fear but words of resolve...words of strengh.
Though the Soviets could easily infiltrated our society(more so then Arabs can)and you could bet their suitcase nukes would've been state of the art devices instead of some cobbled up "dirty bombs", you didn't see our leaders putting forth any kind of Patriot Acts.
Americans would have never accepted such an Act a mere 35 years ago.
If the only reason to elect someone to office is because they (singular) make us FEEL safe then we have lost that which it took to defeat the Soviets. Only Providence can keep us safe.
And only we can keep ourselves free.
Ron Paul sweeps NH, raises thousands to seed his bid.

What has happened to the fierce independent American spirit? Frankly, we have turned into a country of pansies.
