I got the announcement via AMCHA, Rabbi Avi Weiss' organization. He spearheads many of these events.Rabbi Weiss is an unusual person. When it comes to Zionism and Israel he's as rightwing as you could want. But, as I understand it, when it comes to Halakhah and theology he's on the left of Orthodoxy and somewhat controversial.
