Don Teague, NBC News Dallas, is on with the MSNBC host talking about the damage that can be expected at Fort Rucker. He said he lived in Enterprise when he trained as an Army Pilot. One of the good guys.
We owned a house on the east side of Enterprise for about 10 years while I was in and out of Fort Rucker.
Well, the NWS radar at Ft. Rucker is still operating so that wasn't hit.
It was almost heaven to fly low level over that part of Alabama in the spring when the honeysuckle was in bloom. Had a downside though. The sound of the helicopter would herd all those chickens in all those chicken houses into one corner and about 50% would suffocate. Chicken farmers had no liking nor use for helicopters.
