Duncan Hunter is the ideal choice. I'm really pulling for him. BUT...the million dollar question is: Can he do it? Could he make it all the way past the primaries and beat Hillary/Obama and their star power? I'd love to think so but my instincts are telling me to be realistic.

It seems that if the entire FR community (or at least most) got behind Duncan Hunter, he'd have a chance. It would be a huge boost to his campaign if we all got behind him. So far, I think he best represents me. At least what I've read on his site: www.gohunter08.com/inner.asp?z=4.

Besides, the "he doesn't have a chance", are their other reasons to not support Hunter? Does he have some shady history that I do not know about?

Remember the Republican party started out as a long shot. The Republican party was started to end slavery and at a time when slavery was very popular. Well, today abortion is popular, but I believe if we keep speaking out we'll eventually convince people of how truly cruel and horrible abortion is. Today you'd have a hard time finding a Democrat who favors slavery, however, at one time people in that party were willing to die to keep that "right".

My point is this, if the candidate is right for our country, let's stop worrying about his or her chances of winning and let's help them become popular. We can speak out, talk to our families, friends and communities, and can change the public opinion. (We are the public). We just need to be louder and more persistent than big media. Look, moveon.org is a pretty out their crazy group, yet they are loud. They have been extremely successful at speaking their minds and people respect that. Now it's our turn. We need to speak our minds with conviction, and not worry about what others think. Go spread the word! We need a good man (or woman) in office, and at this point, it looks like Duncan Hunter is that man.
