Pity it wasn't France, they would have already surrendered.

It's obviously a quagmire and it will generate a Lichtensteinian civil war. Pull out now.

When I was in the Army, a Pershing Missile Battery on convoy to Graffenwoeher wound up at the (at the time communist) Czech border, where border guards politely refused them entry. It was not unheard of for armed border patrols to wind up on wrong side of the Czech border. There was a story of border guards who actually walked into a Gasthaus in Czechoslovakia, order, eat, get up and pay and walk away. Apparently, the Czechs weren't concerned enough to call the local constabulary.

Let's see, Swiss troops advance into Liechtenstein only to have to pull back to the border in some state of confussion .... dare I say it, this may be the greatest moment in Liechtenstein's glorious military history!!!!

Let's see what we have:
France surrenders - check.
Liechtenstein quagmire - check.
What topic are we missing?
the 170 infantry soldiers wandered just over a mile across an unmarked border
I've got it: build a fence, deport the illegal Swiss invasion! :-).

Having been to Liechtenstein I can say the border between it and Switzerland is simply a sign. There is no checkpoint. The Austrian border might have but its mostly mountainous on that side.

If I were Lichtenstein, I would find out the point where they turned back to the border, erect a monument and bill it for tourism. Surely it is a close second or so to the Napolionic line, halting of the French advance in Russia.
The Swiss army and their knives were forced to retreat and Lichtenstein is free still!!

If you look a little further into this I think you'll find Cheney, Bush and Halliburton involvement. This was no accident. /sarc off
