My own circumstances are not all that different from yours. Recently, to pass the time while waiting for the phone to ring, I started a list of all the things that have disappeared from my world. Without boring you to death, I should say that, by the time the phone rang, my list was up to 60 itmes. Among them were: typewriters, traffic circles, phone booths, slide rules and record players. :)
They've just reinstalled traffic circles in downtown Mobile as a means of slowing down speeders in residential areas.
