Maybe the weapons were valued too highly to be interred.
Passed on in the family etc.
Perhaps they were all confiscated by the authorities after
registration...

Iron and bronze weapons, especially bronze armor, were an expensive proposition and that is exactly what happened in most of the agrarian Greek city-states.
