Did you hear about Anne Coulter's speech this afternoon attacking John? A friend just forwarded me the video and it's one of the worst moments in American politics I've seen.
I can't bring myself to even repeat her comments. Her shameless display of bigotry is so outrageous you actually have to see for yourself:

This is just a taste of the filth that the right-wing machine is gearing up to throw at us. And now that it's begun, we have a choice: Do we sit back, or do we fight back?

Coulter's attack was no accident. It happened on national television at one of the year's biggest conservative conferences. Dick Cheney and most of the Republican candidates were in the audience. She was even introduced by Mitt Romney.
John was singled out for a personal attack because the Republican establishment knows he poses the greatest threat to their power. Since they have nothing real to use against him, Coulter's resorting to the classic right-wing strategy of riling up hate to smear a progressive champion. And the Republican attack dogs will keep playing this despicable trick as long as they think it works.
But this time, you and I can change the game.
If we can raise $100,000 in "Coulter Cash" this week, we can show that bigotry will only backfire on those who use it. John is not the first progressive leader to face this kind of slime, but together, we can make sure he is one of the last.

I think the feminimization of the Republican Party is complete. The Dims can be as vile and polemic as they wish, and the Pubbies have to be soooo careful of being offensive. If Boehner doesn't like prejudice or bigotry, then let the military enlist homosexuals and let them wed. Otherwise, stop the hypocrisy. Reminds me of the outrage over Delay and "Barney Fag". The namecalling is 99% coming from the Dims.

That doesn't make any sense. I read in the NY Times that Romney spoke before Coulter did and jokingly referred to Coulter as a "moderate". So the Edwards campaign chose to take preceding someone as the same as introducing them.
However, Ann's "rear ending" of Edwards has him squealing like a pig in Deliverance!
It's amazing how easy the DEM's are to goad.
Ann drives the left nuts. She stands up to political correctness. She said a word banned by the left. Tough.

IMO Ann should make a joke of it, say she misspoke, meant to call him a "blood sucking trial lawyer maggot, not a faggot"
In essence, she said she wanted to make a few remarks about Edwards, but she would have to go into rehab if she used the word "faggot." Now, that association is made in the mind of the listener, not the speaker.
For example, Ann can say that she was going to make a few remarks about Edwards, and say that she is not supportive of anyone who would call him a faggot, but that she would have to go to rehab if she used the word "faggot.". She set them up and nailed 'em Mr. Ant. GO ANN!! LOL

The word is not banned by the left. They can use it all they want, but when uttered by anyone other than a liberal, it's hate speech.
