The media, and therefore the American sheeple, really began to go negative on the war after ABC's Bob Woodruff, co-anchor of their Nightly News, went to Iraq and nearly died.

...and right afterwards they called in the grief counselors.

Geezus H. Is someone almost getting killed a good reason for turning against the war? Or for that matter, any war?

I wonder how these sheeple would feel if the Talinuts were in Manhattan blowing up coffee shops.

I just hope Rudy doesn't peak too soon and McCain come out on top.

That seems to be what Harwood and Robinson were hoping for this morning. It kind of struck me how dismissive they were of the fact that McInsane is doing so poorly in the polls. All of a sudden, the polls didn't really mean anything because it's so early (I happen to agree with that, but I also think there is a strong indication that Republicans do NOT WANT McCain). They are confident he will rebound.

One thing is for sure...the Dems are going to try to find some way to say that not making the tax cuts permanent does NOT mean they are raising taxes....

Since I was not a hippie at Woodstock, this must have been the conservative alternative. It's funny and fun to remember those days too. Heck, I even heard the original phone call from Dan to Rush that set the whole thing off. Ten years? Wow! Time flies when you're having fun, I guess.....

Conservative group Progress for America agreed to pay a near record $750,000 fine to the FEC because they violated the anti-free speech McCain/Feingold Campaign Finance Reform.

One possible scenario....
once proved an iranian attack......
iran's expecting to receive the same pass the saudis received?
iran will be running to the UN asking why weren't we (iran)
given a pass as the saudis were on 911?
UN will side with the monster (under the bed)?
NO, it would never happen?
Expect full cooperation from the two groups, or was that three groups counting the UN?
Just fooling......but 1 of many different possibilities.
It truly is the fog of war, without war having been declared this time.
and I'm still hearing the same info....
an army has been slipped in right under our noses and we are behaving as if we are powerless to stop the invasion,
move along....nothing to see here.....anyone ever heard of the big picture?
Watch out for those folks who quote say, "you don't understand the big picture", those persons can't understand the 'little picture,' if those persons keep looking for the 'big picture'.

The little picture is the big picture in microcosmic form.
wow, is that word correct....heck I better move on here, I might actually type a coherent message.....
I know....and y'all are correct....typing a coherent message would be impossible.
How dare any of us learn something, anything, or figure out the 'little picture'

once proved an iranian (substitute any country necessay)attack......
iran expects to receive the same pass the saudis received?
iran will be running to the UN asking why aren't we (iran)
given a pass as the saudis were on 911?
UN will side with the monster (under the bed)?
NO, it would never happen?
Expect full cooperation from the two groups, or was that three groups counting the UN?
Just fooling......but 1 of many different possibilities.
It truly is the fog of war, without war having been declared this time.
and I'm still hearing the same info....
an army has been slipped in right under our noses and we are behaving as if we are powerless to stop the invasion,
move along....nothing to see here.....

When our nation actually hears the message 'we are at war', how many American lives will have been lost?
May there never be an attack of this type, for would mean full scale nuclear action!
or full scale nuclear annihilation depending on whose side those people in D.C. are on......
little picture - big picture.....both pictures only one of many possibilities....

May the military always remain in control of the nukes, in our nation, D.C. would rather force
our nation to and into the ground, as for me and my house, I'll trust not the politicians, but will
instead trust the nation's military. My politicians have only one responsibility and that is to fund
the military in order that the military and the military families are provided for, congress has no other
function, if truly as you say congress, "We are at War". Okay congress, if we are at war, supply our military
with the most uptodate equipment, protect and support our military families, and get out of the way
in order that our military may do what has to be done to serve, protect, and defend America.
Otherwise dear congressperson, you serve only to help the enemy! Our military volunteered to serve, protect, and defend! America's best and brightest are defending our nation......does that mean anything to you congresspeople?

I'll cease to bore you now, I hope none read the full text, tweren't worth it......except for the part about funding our military.....congress don't make the people come up there.....
congress is still yelling something from the balcony..... What's that phrase congress is yelling
yes, you guessed it......Go To ____

~FReepers, please forgive my rant...

Yes you are mildly cynical, which is totally Healthy. If I recall Woodruff was being very careless and standing up in the Tank in the War Zone, just so they could get that colorful footage to broadcast. I pray for the man, and I pray that the stupidity of the Media is not compounded daily by their over anxious goal to Destroy our Country with a thousand cuts.

Of course Cheney won't get "Anna Nichole-like coverage" when he dies. He won't have a bunch of ex-lovers and erstwhile hangers-on fighting over his estate, he KNOWS he is the father of his children, and he doesn't look good in pink!

Honest to goodness, the liberals are now to the point where they can make any moronic comment about the administration, even ones in poor taste, and they simply assume it's acceptable.

How come none of us ever runs into these people at airports or other public places, so that we can give them a piece of our mind? Oh, silly me, no chance, since they are special and don't travel coach with all of us big-spending Republicans!

The dems have decided rolling back the tax cuts before the next election would not be the way to go. They will do that after the next election if a dem is in the White House. Count on it!

I've been buying offset credits for months. I don't watch TV or listen to much of the radio shows. Just read about it on FR. Keeps my blood pressure down and I don't kick the cat so much anymore.

If I am not mistaken, Massachusetts had a line on their tax forms to allow people to pay more than their assessed tax.

Haven't heard much about it lately!

Right. Also the families of 85000 workers of Haliburton (even Soros made a fortune in it) & millions of patriotic conservatives.

I think you have hit the nail on the head why I have seen many posts from so called conservatives anti any form of climate change or energy conservation because they see it as buying into all the hype and government control.

I just don't buy into your premise. Conservatives are not anti-climate change or anti energy conservation. They do want our public policy to be based on hard data and science not on assertions that border on being a religion, i.e, a matter of faith, and truck no opposition. The climate is changing continuously and has for the almost 5 billion years this planet has been around. The question is how much man contributes to it and whether man can control these natural cycles. Before we commit huge resources to such a quixoitic quest, we need better data. We are also not against energy conservation, but that is only part of the answer to our long term energy needs.

Maybe the posters do not even realise what they are saying and as you probably know them better than I do you can discern what they are getting at better but from a first impression and without any background knowledge of either the exact situation or the poster's previous history that is how it reads to me. I fully realise of course that in the cold light of day they probably do not mean what they are actually inferring in their posting.

Again, I have no idea what you are referring to. If you have some specific examples and can demonstrate that this is more than just some anecdotal impression, I would like to see it. We began this discussion with your assertion that, "Does not fit their agenda and also IMHO the Prez has not beaten the drum over it for fear of some of the ultra right wing Republicans/Conservatives going ape over it either. One of these things where he cannot win either way." I just question your assertion that the WH has kept the fact that the President's house in Crawford was constructed with energy efficient features quiet because he did not want to anger the "ultra right wing Republicans/Conservatives." I find that preposterous.
