Since this Ann imbroglio started only one squishy FReeper has asked to be removed from the AC ping list. Five have been added.
We still love ya, Ann!
Let me know if you'd like to be added to the Ann Coulter ping list.

Well-said, kristinn! Thanks for this outstanding post.

As proud conservatives, our job is to frustrate one liberal a day.
God Bless Ann Coulter.

Ann Coulter is an entertainer. Her job is to attract attention to herself - and she's succeeded.

I support Ann too. I think her words just made it so much more easy to see how the Dems can say anything with no outrage, but conservatives certainly can't! Ann does not need to make an appology. Lets first hear one from Bill Maher for saying it was too bad Cheney didn't get killed in the bombing!

To some extent you may be right, but the fact is, nobody out there does a better job of ripping apart liberal arguments than Ann, not even Rush.

What ever happened to: "I may not agree with him, but I'll defend to the death his right to say it?" Think about it. We also have the right to EXPRESS that we do not agree.
Ann can say whatever she wants.
I can criticize it.

I posted this once before but I'd like to put it on this thread:
Am I the only one who thinks Ann, in an exquisitely executed statement, revealed the craven hypocrisy of her "conservative" audience, which is preparing to embraced Rudy, who is the crown jewel of the gay lobby?

For a lot of people, to say "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building," is a lot worse than responding that such a remark makes someone a "terrorist sympathizer."
What if it was Rosie O'Donnell, Keith Olbermann or Janeane Garofalo or Bill Maher saying that his or her only regret about McVeigh was that he didn't drive his truck to Fox News or the White House? Wouldn't you get angry about that?
The thing about Annie is she inspires people to adopt double standards. For her defenders whatever she says is justified by some already existing internal political war. If someone on the other side spoke as she did, they'd condemn her, but for Annie anything goes.
Also, I'm still trying to figure things out between the people who say that her comment was alright because "faggot" didn't necessarily refer to homosexuals and those who say that her comment was okay because "faggot" only refers to homosexuals. Get on the same page, people.

Ann Coulter has walked point for conservatives for almost a decade. A decade too long, IMO. She's a crude, abrasive provocateur who does what she does for the benefit of her book sales, not for the conservative movement. She does us more harm than good.
To: ReignOfError
You win it by bringing people to your side, not by killing them.
First, who said anything about killing people? I'm talking about calling a spade a spade.
Second, I don't want "bring people to my side" by tip-toeing through the PC mine-field of nonsense. The only people I see that you bring "to your side" by not using the word faggots, is PC sensitive weaklings.
There are so many people who have given up on the political system, because no-body wants to truely take a stand and lead. It reminds of Braveheart where Wallace is imploring the leader to just lead. Ann is leading, maybe with her head, but at least she calls it as she sees it.
Sincerely

Are we all getting just a little to sensative? It's just a fricken word for heavens sakes! It's just ridiculous. You go Ann! He does act and look light in the loafers anyway!
To: donna
While I can't respond to your point, it is possible. Ann is an incredibly intelligent person and is undoubtedly capable of layering many subtle meanings into her words.
While I didn't personally take away such a thing from her speech, I would not be surprised in the least if it were so.
Unfortunately, if she did intend her jab at the weak kneed PC crowd to carry more than a simple double entendre, most are too obtuse to catch it. Which has directly lead to the firestorm of whimpering and cowering and streams of yellow dribbling down trembling legs that have come to symbolize the republicans of recent days.
But with all things, this will blow over as soon as the next outrage du jour is ginned up by the media and spoon fed to the mewling masses.

"Anyone who attacks Ann Coulter is not a conservative. They might say they are but they aren't." Okay, so now the litmus test for a 'true' conservative is that they can't condemn ad hominem attacks? I guess Reagan isn't a conservative because I don't recall him ever sinking to the level of personal attacks.
