Gerard Butler is a bad ass, I think this is finally the movie that gets him the credit he deserves.
Casino Royale comes out on DVD March 13, and I highly recommend it. I'm a huge Bond fan but have been left wanting after the last few movies. CR is great, a lot of action and less focus on gadgets, it is kind of like the Bourne movies.
Because that's how they do it in Europe.
Not only that but it depicts A people who knowingly went to their death to preserve their people and way of life. They willing sacrificed their lives. Along the same lines as the Alamo. I am sure all socialist/leftest just can't stand the idea of it. Wouldn't want Americans thinking like that, would we?
Not really. They see me and fall over (i prefer to think in awe or fear, but something tells me they are laughing).
I think that this Bond is as was intended, IMHO. I wanted to see it, but my husband has been gone and I really didn't want to go with my boys. However, thanks for the info on the DVD release, I think I'll buy it.
I don't know about Gerard Butler being a badass. But, he has kept me company while my husband has been away.
You mean the battle of Thermopylae was embellished and fictionalized? It's not historically true?
Learn something every day!
Then you should kick them in the chest and into a pit, as I have seen in the trailors. They would laugh at you no more! 8-)
:O(
IIRC, Victor Davis Hanson was historical advisor for the graphic novel and may be for the movie as well.
---Shortly after his press-junket grilling Mr. Snyder an established commercials director, whose best-known previous credit was a remake of George Romeros Dawn of the Dead ran into some surprising reactions at the Berlinale film festival in Germany. Some attendees walked out of a screening there, while others insisted on seeing its presentation of the Spartans defense of Western civilization in the face of a Persian horde as propaganda for Americas position vis-à-vis Iraq and Iran. (By contrast it drew applause at a Los Angeles screening last month.)
Dont you think its interesting that your movie was funded at this point? Mr. Snyder recalled being asked in Berlin. The implication was that funding came from the U.S. government.
When a Feb. 22 report on Wired.com carried a brief mention of the question about Mr. Bushs proper parallel in the film, Web commentators in the United States began to lock on its supposed political vibe.
I feel sorry for people who think everything has to a) be about politics, or b) mimic their beliefs exactly if they are to enjoy it.
I can't wait for this flick and don't care if it is anti-Bush or whatever. If it's entertaining, it's entertaining.
Ha Ha. That's enough information to make me go out and buy a ticket! Germans leaving because it's pro-Bush.
Actually, I like action movies so hubby and I might go see it. Someone should post on there when they do see it and give a review.
Thanks.

First of all, I'm very relieved over the director's reaction. As much as Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith was entertaining, I really cringed over the blatant political BS that Geroge Lucas just had to put in there. This movie is different, and I'm glad. And if it really is pro-Bush/pro-war/pro-Western culture, then thank GOD! It's about time Hollywood does something positive for the country (intentional or not).
Anyways, this is flick that I'll be sure to see ASAP.
capital idea. the fools won't expect that. I'm ordering a pit today.
I gotta go practice yelling at the top of my lungs and kicking people in the chest. Good thing my inlaws are in town.
I'm looking forward to it because they filmed part of it at Villa Balbianello on Lake Como. One of the most beautiful places anywhere....
Movie to go see to piss off a liberal self ping!
Molon Labe indeed!
I need to get the tattoo before the movie, lest I be called a copycat.
