I hope so, but it seems like these groups grow new heads like a hydra.
This is the Islamic State in Iraq it isn't one group, he was the representitive leader of all the groups.
Being in that position you need to keep many groups like the Islamic Army in Iraq and al-Qaeda which hate each other together. A sudden power vacuum could cause real problems.
Nite....ping me if this gets settled....
suppose there are 100,000 terrorist-job-positions in Bagdad.
coalition forces kill 100,000 terrorist in Bagdad.
Q. how many terrorists are then in Bagdad?

Great news, but I won't be happy until they destroy all copies of his latest CD Who's Your Baghdadi?
So they do have him...?
Ernest those links are TWO days old...KUNA has the latest.
I made my original posting on Jawa on the 5th but the second update from IraqSlogger is only 15 hrs old.
Last I heard still only one was in place.
Don't know how reliable that site is of course but it did say:
Baghdad- The Iraqi Interior Ministry announced Monday it arrested the deputy leader of the Islamic state in Iraq militant movement, Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, in Duluiyah, north of Baghdad, Iraq news agency reported. Al-Jabouri, known by the alias Abu-Abdullah, is the deputy of the movement's leader Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, the self-titled "Emir of believers."
Sorting things out from the Blogosphere reports can get dicey I agree.
Some of the timestamping is not the best.
For all we know, there may have been some deliberate false news broadcasted to flush some more goons out of their hiding places. What is most important to me is seeing the Iraqi taking up the ball and running with it. As larger numbers of Iraqi join the army and police, and more tribal members on the Sunni side give full cooperation with the IG and Coalition forces, the insurgency will be put down or minimized to a point where our troops really can withdraw, leaving only key type units to continue to work with them on long term programs.
