In a direct challenge to President Bush, House Democrats unveiled legislation Thursday requiring the withdrawal of U.S. combat troops from Iraq by the fall of next year.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the deadline would be added to legislation providing nearly $100 billion the Bush administration has requested for fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
She told reporters the measure would mark the first time the new Democratic-controlled Congress has established a "date certain" for the end of U.S. combat in the four-year-old war that has claimed the lives of more than 3,100 U.S. troops.

I think they want us out before the big election. So they can keep blaming Bush for everything.
Cowards.

They know that as we pull out, the slaughtering will begin, and what makes for better campaigning than a Genocide to blame on the Republican Party? "See those poor souls being beheaded, murdered in beds and streets. THAT'S what the Republicans caused!"

Nice to know the Democrats are ready to take full responsibility for losing Iraq. They're not. They're betting on being able to pin the defeat on President Bush, while claiming that they did the sensible thing by ending it. Sadly, by and large, that will probably sell with many voters.

I used to think that women might actually do a 'better' job. I don't think so anymore. I used to revolt at the notion that women are 'all' nurturers. Not anymore.
What I do think now is that for any 'ground' gained by women in the US that women the world over have lost the same amount of ground. Feature that.

Sounds like a politically motivated deadline rather than one that is calculated to advance the interests of the Nation.

I used to think that women might actually do a 'better' job. I don't think so anymore. I used to think the same of engineers. Then we got Jimmy Carter.

It seems that Frau Pelosi and Herr Durbin along with Herr Schuman(s) are really getting in close with their al Qaeda friends. The oath they took to uphold and defend the Constitution seems to have little meaning as they seek to surrender our great country to the Islamic terrorist.
