Will's infatuation with Rudy Giuliani's candidacy shows a callous desire to throw conservatism overboard in favor of a more progressive approach to GOP politics. From his recent rants, appears Will is slowly morphing into a Rockefeller Republican. A tendency he's shown off and on for many years. Will is just shilling for Rudy! LOL

So, what George Will is saying is that the Democrats are more trustworthy than his "chosen" candidate? So we should feel safe?

I fully believe that if JulieAnnie is elected there will be a flurry of new legislation proposed. Lobbyists & legislators will be saying "Rudy's election proved that guns are no longer an issue", "Abortion is no longer an issue", "Immigration is no longer an issue", etc. Battles long won will be renewed. All of these social issues that we are told to overlook to get Giuliani elected will come under fire.

Each spectacular gun crime (like the amish shooting or the mall shooting) will bring a flurry of demands from HCI & the VPC for JulieAnnie to do something to protect us. And he will. He will put "common sense" restrictions into place to "protect the children". The BATF will adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward even the most minor issues. You will see GUNSTAT and "Quality of Life" enforcement on petty gun crimes (paperwork violations). He will take the photo-op, standing arm in arm with Sarah Brady, proclaiming a new future for the country free of senseless gun violence. And people will lose their gun rights.

Politicians on both sides hate the gun lobby because they fear it. That fear needs renewed.
