While most black folks tend to be democrats, they often aren't very liberal in my experience. I was in NYC around the holidays a few years ago and Savage's book, 'The Enemy Within,' - I think it was his 2nd book - had just come out.

I was at the B&N on 21st St and 6th ave and anxious to thumb through it, and a black fella was there doing the same. So I said, "hey, Savage's new book! Awesome!'

We got to talking and he was friendly. He loves Savage and made a point that 'Savage tells the TRUTH.' I of course agreed. He then noted how race hustlers make their living pitting people against each other, but in fact they were 'the enemy within!' He was a big Savage fan and we got along great. We both got our copies and parted!

Savage has a great act and does speak a basic truth that appeals to many people, even beyond traditional conservative radio bounds. I think he appeals more to racial minorities - conservative and otherwise - more than any other top host on the dail.
