JMHO, but the entire Patrick campaign smacks of a drunken wager.
One can imagine a smashed Patrick partying with his lawyer pals in some Beantown watering hole: "Hey buddy, if you can finish that fifteenth beer, I'll run for governor!"
That's not how it happened. It was the Clinton folks in concert with Teddy that put Daval in the governor's office. Not all the democrats were happy with that decision but they voted the party line.
