A century ago, it was coloring the world red.
Now it is fighting for what's green that is pushing Europe along.

In Europe at least, climate change is now generally agreed to be the planet's most pressing problem, in need of urgent action.
God forbid the muslim hordes chop their head's off. It would be a tad inconvenient.

P.S. Personally support renewable energy. Just against going to far with it. No to environmental extremism. Yes to environmental sensibility.
Let renewable energy implementation progress naturally, by demand. Already, oil prices have gotten pretty high. This has led to incentives to reduce this country's reliance on oil, and to get electricity and fuel for other sources. Advances in technology are making solar power more and more feasible, economically. If it is helpful to the environment, then that is a plus.

When he's not being chauffeur-driven from place to place in a large German limousine, the Portuguese former prime minister drives a VW Touareg 4x4, which belches out an astonishing 355g/km of CO2. Embarrassing when you think that the commission he heads has just set legal targets of 120g of CO2 for all new cars from 2012.
Don't you just love these clowns?
